Closely Populated Localities and Limited Speed Zones Declared
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:
- The following Warrants which relate to areas in Waitemata County, are hereby revoked:
The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 30th day of November 1951†, which relates to the Waitakere Scenic Drive at Titirangi;
The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 23rd day of August 1955‡, which relates to the New Lynn-Huia via Brooklyn Highway adjacent to New Lynn Borough;
The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, dated the 4th day of February 1958§, which relates to South Titirangi Road;
The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, dated the 13th day of August 1959∥, which relates to Titirangi;
The Warrant under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, dated the 13th day of September 1966¶, which relates to Titirangi and Green Bay. - The areas and roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
- The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.
FIRST SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Waitemata County:
At Laingholm and Laingholm Central—
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the eastern side of Laingholm Drive 15 chains measured northerly generally along the said roadside from Janet Road; thence across Laingholm Drive at right-angles to its eastern side, to its western side; thence westerly generally by a right line to a point on the north-eastern side of Victory Road 10 chains measured northerly generally along the said roadside from Hastings Road; thence due south-west by a right line across Victory Road to the north-eastern bank of the Big Muddy Creek; thence south-easterly generally along the said bank to the shore of the Manukau Harbour; thence north-easterly generally along the said shore to the western bank of the Little Muddy Creek; thence northerly generally along the said bank to a point opposite the commencing point; thence to the commencing point.
At Titirangi and Green Bay—
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the shore of the Manukau Harbour where the western boundary of Auckland City meets the eastern boundary of Waitemata County; thence northerly generally along the western boundary of Auckland City to the southern boundary of New Lynn Borough; thence westerly generally along the southern boundary of New Lynn Borough to the southern boundary of Glen Eden Borough; thence westerly generally along the southern boundary of Glen Eden Borough to the south-western side of View Road; thence southerly generally by a right line to the southern terminating point of Phillips Avenue and along the prolongation of the aforesaid right line to the northern side of the Waitakere Scenic Drive; thence south-easterly generally along the northern side of the Waitakere Scenic Drive to a point 3 chains measured southerly generally along the said roadside from Huia Road; thence south-easterly generally across the Waitakere Scenic Drive at right angles to its north-western side to its south-eastern side; thence north-easterly generally along the south-eastern side of the said road to the western side of Huia Road; thence southerly and westerly generally along the western and northern sides of Huia Road to a point 26 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said roadside from the Waitakere Scenic Drive; thence easterly generally across Huia Road at right angles to its north-western side to its south-eastern side; thence south-westerly generally along the south-eastern side of Huia Road to the northern side of the Landing; thence easterly generally along the northern side of the Landing to the eastern bank of the Little Muddy Creek; thence southerly generally along the said eastern bank to the shore of the Manukau Harbour; thence north-easterly generally along the said shore to the commencing point.
