Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964*, the
Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the
provisions of clause (1) of regulation 16 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade
motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned,
but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers
Regulations 1964* to the person described in column 1 of
the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy
trade motor in the course of his employment for the
employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but
shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years,
to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Notice Requiring Certain Goods-Service Licensees to Join the
North Island Heavy Haulage Association (Incorporated)

WHEREAS, under the Transport Organisation Membership
Regulations 1941, a poll has been conducted on the proposal
that all goods-service licensees in the following class namely,
persons or bodies corporate:

(1) Being a transport operator holding a current goods-
service licence under the Transport Act 1962 (or any substituted enactment), authorising the carriage of goods other
than his own:

(a) Throughout two or more goods-service districts in the
North Island of New Zealand, and
(b) Having an exemption from Regulation 24 (1) of the
Transport Licensing Regulations 1963 (or any substituted provision), in respect of any class of heavy
goods, and
(c) Lawfully in current use by that transport operator for
the transport of heavy goods in or over two or
more goods-service districts in the North Island; and

(2) Having in current operation and used in connection with
such goods-service licence, a vehicle or vehicles certified by
the Transport Department to be capable of carrying an
indivisible load of at least 20 tons, be required to join the
North Island Heavy Haulage Association (Incorporated) :
And whereas of 24 votes recorded, 19 were in favour of
the proposal:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Transport, hereby declares
that every person who is now or hereafter the holder of a
continuous goods-service licence under the Transport Act
1962, and is a person comprised in the class of goods-service
licensee described in the preceding paragraphs (1) and (2),
if he is not already a member thereof shall, not later than
the 15th day of July 1967, or not later than 14 days after
the grant to him of such licence (as the case may be), join
the North Island Heavy Haulage Association (Incorporated).

Closely Populated Locality Extended

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The Warrant under section 52 of the Transport Act
    1962, dated the 29th day of November 1966*, which relates
    to Wellsford in Rodney County is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby
    declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes
    of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Rodney County at Wellsford:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from Davies Road
to a point 16 chains measured northerly generally along the
said highway from School Road).

No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) (from the
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point three chains
measured westerly generally along the No. 16 State Highway
(Auckland-Wellsford) from Davies Road).

Armitage Road.
Batten Street.
Bellevue Avenue.
Davies Road (from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-
Bluff) to the No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford)).

Cancellation of the Vesting in the Malvern County Council
and Revocation of the Reservation Over Part of a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister
of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Malvern, and revokes
the reservation over that part of the reserve for cemetery
purposes described in the Schedule hereto.

This notice is issued in substitution for the notice dated the
16th day of February 1965, and published in Gazette, dated
1965, Volume I, page 224, and that notice is hereby revoked.
