Defining the Boundaries of the South Canterbury Electric Power District Outer Area

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby define the boundaries of the South Canterbury Electric Power District Outer Area as set out in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Counties of Geraldine and Mackenzie, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Orari River in line with the middle line of a road forming the southern boundary of Rural Section 32299; and proceeding south-westerly along a right line to a point on the right bank of the Orari River in line with the middle line of Tripp Settlement Road; thence westerly, southerly, and again westerly along the middle lines of that road, Burma Road, again Tripp Settlement Road, and Yates Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 6A, Tripp Settlement; thence southerly, westerly, and again southerly to and along that boundary, the northern boundaries of Sections 6B, 7, and 8 and the western boundary of Section 9, Tripp Settlement and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Waihi River; thence north-westerly along the middle of that river to the middle of a stream forming the northern boundaries of Rural Sections 36028 and 32263 and former Rural Sections 27546 and 25031 to a point in line with the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned former Rural Section; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary to the south-eastern boundary of Section 25, Tripp Settlement; thence south-westerly along that boundary and the south-eastern boundary of Section 26, Tripp Settlement to the middle of Pleasant Gully Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of that road to the middle of the Hae Hae Te Moana River (South Branch); thence westerly generally down the middle of that river to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 3A, Four Peaks Settlement; thence south-westerly along a right line to a point in the middle of the Opuha River in line with the north-western boundary of Rural Section 19382, Block V, Ophi Survey District; thence northerly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Rural Section 36096; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary and its production across a public road to the south-western boundary of Section 7A, Four Peaks Settlement; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the south-western and north-western boundaries of that section and northerly generally along the western boundary of Section 26, Tripp Settlement, and its production to the middle of the Mowbray River; thence northerly and north-easterly down the middle lines of that river and the Orari River to a point in line with the middle of the Phantom River; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of that river to the general north-western boundary of Run 2 (The Forks); thence north-easterly generally and south-easterly generally along that boundary and the general north-eastern boundary of Run 276 (Lochaber) to the general northern boundary of Run 4C; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the general eastern boundary of Run 4A; thence southerly generally along that boundary and its production across Orari River Road to the middle of the Orari River; thence south-easterly down the middle of that river to the point of commencement; together with all that area in the County of Mackenzie, Canterbury Land District,
bounded by a line commencing at McClure Peak on the Main Divide, Block IV, Torlesse Survey District, and proceeding southerly generally along the summit of the Two Thumb Range to Mount Burgess, Block IV, Burke Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along the general south-eastern boundary of part Run 75 (Holbrook) to the northern side of Burkes Pass Road No. 8 State Highway; thence south-westerly along that roadside to a point in line with the general south-western boundary of part Run 25 (Rollesby); thence south-easterly generally to and along that boundary and the eastern boundary of Rural Section 36814 to a road forming the southern boundary of that Rural Section, at Mackenzie Pass; thence southerly generally and westerly to and along the general eastern and southern boundaries of Run 253 (Whalesback) and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Snow River; thence southerly generally up the middle of that river and its production to the summit of the Hakataramea Pass; thence south-westerly along a right line passing through the northern-most corner of Part Run 67 (Te Akatarawa) to the middle of the Waitaki River; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of that river, Lake Benmore, and the Ohau River to Lake Ohau; thence north-westerly generally to and along the north-eastern and eastern shores of that lake to the middle of the Hopkins River; thence north-westerly up the middle of that river to a point due west to Trig. Station W, Block XV, Hopkins Survey District; thence due east along a right line to a point distant 2 miles east of that trig; thence due north along a right line to a point distant 4 miles; thence due west along a right line to a point in the middle of the Hopkins River; thence northerly generally up the middle of that river to its source at Mount Hopkins on the Main Divide; thence north-easterly generally along the summit of that divide to the point of commencement.
As the said area is shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 722 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington, and thereon outlined in blue.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 18th day of April 1967.

Land Taken for Soil Conservation and River Control Purposes in Block III, Rangiriri Survey District, Raglan County

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for soil conservation and river control purposes; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 1st day of May 1967.
