Roads Excluded from Speed Limitation and Limited Speed Zones Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The Warrant under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, dated the 14th day of September 1966†, which relates to roads in Napier City, is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

SITUATED within Napier City:

No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) (from Hyderabad Road to the southern end of Pandora Road Bridge).

No. 50 State Highway (Napier-Takapau via Fernhill) (from Kennedy Road to Trinity Crescent).

Kennedy Road (from No. 50 State Highway (Napier-Takapau via Fernhill) to Downing Avenue).

Wharerangi Road.

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Napier City:

No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) (from Hyderabad Road to the southern end of Pandora Road Bridge).

No. 50 State Highway (Napier-Takapau via Fernhill) (from Kennedy Road to Trinity Crescent).

Wharerangi Road (from a point 32 chains measured westerly generally along the said road from the No. 50 State Highway (Napier-Takapau via Fernhill) to Park Island Road.

Declaring Land Taken for the Purposes of the Avondale-Onehunga-Southdown Railway in the Borough of Onehunga

PURSUANT to section 32 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares that, a sufficient agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the Avondale-Onehunga-Southdown railway on and after the 17th day of April 1967.

RNZAF Helicopter Training Area

———

It is hereby notified that a low flying helicopter training area has been established in the vicinity of the Royal New Zealand Air Force airfield at Hobsonville.

The area is more particularly delineated in the Schedule hereto.

Within these boundaries, over uninhabited areas, low flying, forced landing techniques, and confined area approaches will take place.

This training will be undertaken under the authorisation of the Air Officer Commanding RNZAF Operations Group Headquarters, RNZAF Base, Auckland.

THAT area bounded by a line commencing at the junction of Deacon Road and Kumeu-Riverhead Highway (36° 45′ 50″ S 174° 34′ 33″ E), thence north-westerly to the junction of North Road and Taylor Road (36° 43′ 02″ S 174° 29′ 48″ E), thence north-easterly to Trig. Point 14 (36° 40′ 47″ S 174° 32′ 09″ E), thence easterly to the junction of Bawden’s Road and State Highway No. 1 (36° 41′ 02″ S 174° 39′ 10″ E), thence coincident with State Highway No. 1 to the junction of State Highway No. 1 and State Highway No. 18 (36° 42′ 47″ S 174° 40′ 00″ E), thence south-westerly to the junction of State Highway No. 18 and Ridge Road (36° 45′ 18″ S 174° 36′ 41″ E), thence to the point of commencement.

Reservation of Land and Appointment of South Canterbury Catchment Board to Control and Manage Reserves

PURSUANT to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby sets apart the lands described in the Schedule hereto as reserves for soil conservation and river control purposes, and further, pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act, appoints the South Canterbury Catchment Board to control and manage the said reserves, subject to the provisions of the said Act, as reserves for soil conservation and river control purposes.
