At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 27th day of February 1967

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby constitutes and declares the area of land, the boundaries of which are declared in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 18 of the Rabbits Act 1955 applies, a rabbit district, and appoints that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Poolburn - Moa Creek Rabbit District, and orders that the basis on which the rabbit board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.


SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE POOLBURN - MOA CREEK RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Counties of Vincent and Maniototo containing 23,200 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the southernmost corner of Section 2, Block XIII, Tiger Hill Survey District and proceeding north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Blocks XIII and XIV, Tiger Hill Survey District to the north-eastern boundary of Section 7, Block XIV, aforesaid; then north-westerly along that boundary to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 4, Ida Valley Settlement; then north-easterly to and along the north-western boundary of Ida Valley Settlement to the south-western boundary of Block XV, Tiger Hill Survey District; then south-easterly along that boundary to the north-western boundary of Block V, Tiger Hill Survey District; then north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of that Block and Blocks X and XI, Poolburn Survey District to the northernmost corner of that Block XI; then south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Block XI, aforesaid to the southernmost corner of Run 244B; then north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Block V, Poolburn Survey District and Block XIV, Blackstone Survey District to the southernmost corner of Section 33, Block III, Poolburn Survey District; then north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that Section 33, to the north-eastern boundary of Block III, aforesaid; then south-easterly along that boundary to the north-western side of Ida Valley Omakau Road; then north-easterly along that side to the north-eastern boundary of Section 11, Block XVI, Blackstone Survey District; then south-easterly to and along that boundary to the north-western side of Ida Valley Back Road; then south-westerly along that side to the north-eastern side of McNally Road; then north-westerly along that side to a point in line with the north-western side of Jones Road; then south-westerly to and along that side to the north-eastern side of Sullivans Road; then north-westerly along that side to a point in line with the south-eastern side of Moa Creek Road; then south-westerly to and along that side to the north-eastern boundary of Section 7, Block XII, Tiger Hill Survey District; then south-easterly and south-westerly along the south-western and north-western boundaries of Run 2610 and the last mentioned boundary produced to the north-eastern boundary of Run 261P; then north-westerly, south-easterly and south-westerly along the north-eastern, south-western and north-western boundaries of Run 261P to the north-eastern side of Old Dunstan Road; then north-westerly along that side to a point in line with the south-eastern side of Aston Road; then south-westerly to and along that side to the south-eastern boundary of Block IX, Tiger Hill Survey District; then south-westerly and north-westerly along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of that Block IX to the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:


ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Strath Taieri Rabbit District Order 1967.

(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1967.

  1. The boundaries of the Strath Taieri Rabbit District, which was substituted by Order in Council on the 27th day of August 1960*, are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE STRATH TAIERI RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Taieri and Maniototo Counties containing 212,100 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of Run 713, Block V, Rock and Pillar Survey District and proceeding generally south-easterly, south-westerly and again north-easterly along the north-eastern, south-eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of Run 713 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Taieri River; then generally southerly and south-easterly down the middle of the Taieri River to a point in line with the middle of Deep Stream; then generally westerly, south-westerly, and north-westerly to and up the middle of Deep Stream to its intersection with the south-western boundary of Run 734 approximately 68 chains east of Trig. Station H, Block VII, Hedgehope Survey District; then generally north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Run 734 and its production to the middle of the Taieri River; then generally north-easterly down the middle of the Taieri River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Run 254D in Block VII, Serpentine Survey District; then generally north-easterly to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Runs 254D, 254C, and 254B to the western boundary of Run 601 in Block VIII, Loganburn Survey District; then southerly along the western boundary of Run 601 to the middle of the Loganburn; then generally northerly down the middle of the Loganburn to a point in line with the northern boundary of Run 599 in Block VI, Loganburn Survey District; then generally easterly and north-easterly to and along the northern and north-western boundaries of Run 599 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the north-western corner of Run 598; then generally north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Runs 598, 597, 596, Lots 3, 2, and 1, D.P. 5457, and Runs 213A, 714, and 713, to the point of commencement.
