Boundaries of Borough of Port Chalmers Defined

PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Port Chalmers; the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council made on 31 January 1962, and published in Gazette, 8 February 1962, No. 10, page 253.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF PORT CHALMERS

ALL that area in the Otago Land District containing 1,012 acres bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 62, Sawyers Bay Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly generally along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block II, Lower Harbour West Survey District, and the production of the south-eastern boundary of that Section 4 to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 4, aforesaid, to and along the last-mentioned boundary to a point in line with the south-eastern side of Woodland Terrace, to and along that side of Woodland Terrace to the southern side of Slant Street, along a right line to the westernmost corner of Lot 39, Deeds Plan 57, along the south-eastern side of Ocean Terrace and its production to the south-western boundary of part Section 2, Block I, Lower Harbour West Survey District, along that boundary of part Section 2, aforesaid, to the south-eastern side of the South Island Main Trunk Railway, along that side of that railway to the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, aforesaid; then south-easterly along that boundary of that Section 2 and its production to the original high-water mark of the Otago Harbour, along a right line to the north-eastern extremity of Beach Street, Town of Port Chalmers, and along the north-eastern side of Peninsula Beach Road and its production to the high-water mark of the Otago Harbour; then generally south-westerly, westerly, and northerly along the high-water mark of the Otago Harbour to a point on the eastern side of Sawyers Bay in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 62, Sawyers Bay Survey District; then north-westerly along a right line to the westernmost corner of Lot 51, D.P. 7074; then south-westerly along the production of the north-western boundary of Lot 51, aforesaid, to and along the high-water mark of the Otago Harbour to a point in line with the south-western side of Station Road; then generally south-westerly along right lines along the boundaries of the area vested in the Otago Harbour Board, by the Otago Harbour Board Lands Vesting Act 1910, on a bearing of 134° 45', 320 links approximately; then on a bearing of 206° 40', 1760 links; then on a bearing of 150° 40', 2000 links; then on a bearing of 216° 15', 2340 links; then north-westerly along a right line on a bearing of 288°, 550 links to the boundary of Section 23, Sawyers Bay Survey District at Kilgour Point; then generally north-westerly along the original high-water mark of the Otago Harbour to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 31, Sawyers Bay Survey District; then north-westerly to and along that boundary to the south-eastern boundary of Lot B, D.P. 1124; then south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that Lot B and its production to the middle of Brick Hill Road; then generally north-easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 10, Sawyers Bay Survey District; then north-westerly to and along that boundary and the south-western boundaries of Sections 8 and 6, Sawyers Bay Survey District, to and along the south-western boundary of Sawyers Bay Survey District and its production to a point on the south-western boundary of Section 1 of 85, Block VII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, 250 links distant from the southernmost corner of that Section 1 of 85; then north-easterly along a right line parallel to, and distant 250 links from, the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 1 of 85, 1 of 84, 83, 82, 2 of 81, and 1 of 81 produced to the south-western boundary of Section 2 of 79, Block VII, aforesaid; then south-easterly generally along that boundary to the southernmost corner of Section 2 of 79, aforesaid, along a right line to the northernmost corner of the land comprised in C.T. 75/153, along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of the land comprised in C.T. 75/153, aforesaid, to a point on that south-eastern boundary 250 links distant at right angles to the north-eastern side of Reservoir Road, along right lines parallel to, and distant 250 links from, the north-eastern side of Reservoir Road to the north-western boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 1058, along the north-western, south-western, north-western, and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 4, aforesaid, to the northernmost corner of Lot 3, D.P. 1058, along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Lot 3, aforesaid, to the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 2095, along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, D.P. 2095, and their production to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 6, 7, and 8, D.P. 2095, and the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 1058 to its south-western corner, along a right line parallel to, and distant 250 links from, the north-eastern side of Reservoir Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 7911; then south-westerly to the northernmost corner of that Lot 1; then generally southerly along the eastern boundaries of Lot 1, aforesaid, to the north-eastern side of Dalkeith Road; then generally south-easterly and north-easterly along the north-eastern and north-western sides of that road to the south-western boundary of Section 63, Sawyers Bay Survey District; then north-westerly along that boundary to and south-easterly along a line parallel to and distant 250 links from the north-eastern side of that road to the south-western boundary of that part of Section 63, Sawyers Bay Survey District, comprised in C.T. 385/199; then generally northerly along the south-western and north-western boundaries of the land comprised in C.T. 385/199, and the south-western and north-western boundaries of Section 62, Sawyers Bay Survey District to the point of commencement.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that as at the close of business on Friday, 10 March 1967, and until further notice, balances to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each trading bank shall be equal to an amount which will be not less than the aggregate of: 1 percent of that bank’s demand deposits in New Zealand plus 1 percent of that bank’s time deposits in New Zealand (excluding wool retention deposits), as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 31 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964.

The balances to be maintained as aforesaid shall be exclusive of any balance held by a trading bank in its wool retention account at the Reserve Bank.
