PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto, by way of loan, of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

Taking Land for Public Purposes at Niue

PURSUANT to section 326 of the Niue Act 1966, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby takes the land described in the Schedule hereto for the following public purposes, namely an aerodrome and farm.

SCHEDULE

ALL those pieces of land containing together 205 acres 2 roods 16 perches, more or less, situated in the Districts of Alofi and Tamakautoga in the island of Niue, Cook Islands, and being the whole of the land known as part Lokikava/Fonuakula Section 17, part Fualahi/Pua Section 18, part Pua Section 19, part Fualahi Section 5, 20, 23, and 24, part Fonuakula Section 21, part Fumasini Section 25, part Kaimiti Section 27, and part Vaioluolu Section 28, part Fugamako Section 29, Block III, Alofi District; and part Vaiola Section 6, part Vaiola/Talafa Section 7, parts Fifinehoua Sections 8, 9, and 10, Parts Toa Sections 11 and 12, part Halagogo Section 13, and part Maka Section 14, Tamakautoga District, as the same is more particularly delineated and bordered red on the plan signed by the Resident Commissioner of Niue and deposited in the Office of the Registrar, Land Court, Niue, under number 90.

PURSUANT to section 54 of the Education Act 1964, as amended by section 2 of the Education Amendment Act 1966, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs that, from the date of the commencement of this order, the Southland Education Board shall cease to exercise control over Central Southland College, and that the sole control thereof shall be vested in the Southland Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools Board.

Appointments

Squadron Leader Peter Sydney Rule (551601) is granted a career commission in the General Duties Branch, Regular Air Force, for a period ending 14 December 1974.

The under-mentioned Officer Cadets are granted permanent commissions in the General Duties Branch, Regular Air Force, in the rank of Acting Pilot Officer, with seniority and effect from 2 December 1966:

Promotion

Flying Officer Peter Harold White (336991) to be Flight Lieutenant, with effect from 26 February 1967.

Extension of Commission

Flight Lieutenant Anthony Michael Keane (80416) is granted an extension of his commission until 9 February 1967, to be followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers.

Resignation

Pilot Officer Ritchie James de Montalk (81497) resigns his commission, with effect from 9 February 1967.
