The South Otago High School Board of Governors Order 1967

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 27th day of February 1967

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to sections 50 and 51 of the Education Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the South Otago High School Board of Governors Order 1967.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of June 1967.

  2. The Board of Governors of South Otago High School shall be constituted as follows:
    (a) One member appointed by the Otago Education Board;
    (b) Five members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school;
    (c) One member appointed by the Balclutha Borough Council;
    (d) Two members elected by the members of the school committees of the Balclutha State primary school, the Benhar State primary school, the Clinton State primary school, the Kaitangata State primary school, the Otonomomo State primary school, the Port Molyneux State primary school, the Romahapa State primary school, the Rosebank State primary school, the Stirling State primary school, the Waitepeka State primary school, the Waiwera South State primary school, and the Warepa State primary school;
    (e) One member co-opted by the Board itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  3. The Minister of Education may, from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, amend the list of schools to which paragraph (d) of clause 2 of this order applies.

Hamilton High Schools Board of Governors Order 1967

PURSUANT to sections 50 and 51 of the Education Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Hamilton High Schools Board of Governors Order 1967.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of June 1967.

  2. The Board of Governors for the control of Hamilton Boys’ High School and Hamilton Girls’ High School shall be known as the Hamilton High Schools Board of Governors, and shall be constituted as follows:
    (a) One member appointed by the South Auckland Education Board;
    (b) Three members elected by the parents of pupils attending the Hamilton Boys’ High School;
    (c) Three members elected by the parents of pupils attending the Hamilton Girls’ High School;
    (d) One member appointed by the Hamilton City Council;
    (e) One member elected by the members of the Hamilton High School Old Boys’ Association Incorporated;
    (f) One member elected by the members of the Hamilton High School Old Girls’ Association Incorporated;
    (g) One member appointed by the Council of the University of Waikato.

  3. The Hamilton High School Board of Governors Order 1957* is hereby revoked.

Exempting Land in the Nelson Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

BERNARD FERGUSSON, Governor-General

PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

THE land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area of land containing 1 rood, more or less, being Lot 128, on Deposited Plan 84, of the township of Blackball, and being Section 3, Block II, Mawheranui Survey District, and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 28, folio 92, Westland Registry; save and excepting for Her Majesty the Queen all seams or beds of coal, and all other minerals and metals, and reserving always to Her Majesty the Queen and all persons lawfully entitled to work the said coal, minerals, and metals, a right of ingress, egress, and regress under the said land.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 22nd day of February 1967.

His Excellency the Governor-General directs it to be notified that the appointment of

Mr E. Glendinning Cowell

as Honorary Consul-General for Turkey at Auckland has been provisionally recognised.

Appointment of Ambassador of Denmark

His Excellency the Governor-General directs it to be notified that

Mr Niels Christian Stenderup

presented his Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Denmark to New Zealand at Government House, Auckland, on 13 February 1967.

Justice of the Peace Appointed

PURSUANT to the Justices of the Peace Act 1957, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Bryan Osborne Nicholson, Esquire

Stipendiary Magistrate of the Magistrate’s Court, Auckland, to be a Justice of the Peace for New Zealand.

Magistrate Appointed to Exercise Jurisdiction in the Children’s Court

PURSUANT to section 27 of the Child Welfare Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Robert McIntosh Grant, Esquire,

Stipendiary Magistrate, to exercise jurisdiction in the Children’s Court, established at Gisborne, for the period from the 1st day of March 1967 to the 31st day of March 1967, both days inclusive.

PURSUANT to section 10 of the Magistrate’s Court Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand has been pleased to appoint

Robert McIntosh Grant, Esquire,

of Auckland, to be a Stipendiary Magistrate, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand, to hold and exercise the duties of this office for a period from the 1st day of March 1967 to the 31st day of March 1967, both days inclusive.
