As the total number of valid votes recorded for either State purchase and control or national prohibition does not amount to more than one-half of all the valid votes recorded at the poll, the result of the poll is that national continuance is deemed to have been carried.

Consent to the Raising of Money by Finance Companies for Certain Purposes
PURSUANT to the Capital Issues (Finance Companies) Regulations 1967, the Minister of Finance hereby consents to the borrowing of money in New Zealand by or on behalf of any finance company, subject to the following conditions:
(a) That the money so borrowed shall be used only for the purpose of repaying on or after due date—
(i) Any money borrowed in New Zealand by the finance company before the commencement of the said regulations; or
(ii) Any money borrowed pursuant to this consent by the finance company after the commencement of those regulations.
Provided, however, that any money borrowed under this paragraph may, until it is required for the aforesaid purpose, be invested with a person for the time being authorised by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand to receive money on deposit as a short-term money market dealer or be paid to the credit of the finance company, either in a current account or a fixed deposit account, with any trading bank within the meaning of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964;
(b) That any statement giving notice of this consent which is included in any prospectus or other document, pursuant to regulation 4 of the aforesaid regulations, shall be followed by the words—
“The Minister does not, nor does any official of the New Zealand Government, accept responsibility for any statement made herein either as to facts or as to the prospects of the company”.

PURSUANT to section 25 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be set apart for road from and after the 26th day of February 1967.
