Consenting to the Issue of Capital by Certain Companies

The Minister of Finance hereby consents, pursuant to the Capital Issues (Overseas) Regulations 1965, as amended by the Capital Issues (Overseas) Regulations 1965, Amendment No. 1, to the exercise of the following powers by any company within the meaning of the Companies Act 1965, which is an overseas person for the purposes of those regulations, but which would not be an overseas person if the shares held in that company by any of the life insurance offices mentioned in the Schedule hereto are disregarded when calculating for the purposes of regulation 3A (2) (c) of those regulations the percentage of voting power exercisable at any general meeting of that company by overseas persons:

(1) The power to borrow money in New Zealand.
(2) The power to raise money in New Zealand by the issue, whether in New Zealand or elsewhere, of any shares in that company.
(3) The power to make any call in respect of any shares issued by that company to a person ordinarily resident in New Zealand.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve
