MINING ACT 1926

APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE FOR A WATER RACE

NOTICE is hereby given that Arthur Ernest Collins, of Millers
Flat, farmer, will apply to the Warden of the Otago Mining
District, at Cromwell, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, the 6th day of
December 1966, for a licence for a water race to divert
one-half head of water from the Clutha River by a water race
commencing opposite land of C. Connor and terminating at
applicant's land.

Objections must be filed in the office of the Mining
Registrar, Cromwell, and notified to applicant, whose address
for service is at the office of Messrs Brodrick and Parcell,
Solicitors, 49 Melmore Street, Cromwell, at least three days
before the above-mentioned time of hearing.

AUCKLAND REGIONAL AUTHORITY

SPECIAL ORDER

THE Auckland Regional Authority, in exercise of the powers
vested in it by the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963,
sections 40 and 41, and in pursuance of the authority con-
ferred upon it under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956,
and in exercise of all other powers enabling it in that behalf,
doth hereby resolve, by special resolution intended to operate
as a special order, to borrow the sum of £50,000, as a
special loan, to be known as Airport Loan No. 1, 1964,
£2,500,000—3rd Issue, £50,000, for the purpose of meeting
the Authority's share of capital expenditure at the Auckland
International Airport and other miscellaneous capital costs
to 31 March 1967.

The foregoing special order was made by way of special
resolution, passed at a special meeting of the Authority held
on 17 October 1966. It was publicly notified in the Auckland
Star on the 20th day of October 1966 and the 3rd day of
November 1966, and confirmed at the ordinary meeting of
the Authority held on the 21st day of November 1966.

The common seal of the Auckland Regional Authority was
hereunto affixed this 21st day of November 1966.

AUCKLAND REGIONAL AUTHORITY

SPECIAL ORDER

THE Auckland Regional Authority, in exercise of the powers
vested in it by the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963,
sections 45 and 24, and in pursuance of the authority conferred
upon it under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and in
exercise of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, doth
hereby resolve, by special resolution, intended to operate as
a special order, to borrow the sum of £57,000 (fifty-seven
thousand pounds), as a special loan, to be known as Property
Loan No. 2, 1965, £307,000—1st Issue, £57,000, for the
purpose of providing sufficient loan finance to cover initial
construction costs, architects' fees, and other incidental
expenses in connection with the Authority's new building in
Wellesley Street West, Auckland.

The foregoing special order was made by way of special
resolution, passed at a special meeting of the Authority held
on 17 October 1966. It was publicly notified in the Auckland
Star on the 27th day of October 1966 and the 10th day of
November 1966, and confirmed at the ordinary meeting of
the Authority held on the 21st day of November 1966.

The common seal of the Auckland Regional Authority was
hereunto affixed this 21st day of November 1966.

EGMONT TROTTING CLUB INCORPORATED

REGULATIONS UNDER SECTION 33 OF THE GAMING ACT 1908

At a special general meeting of the Egmont Trotting Club
Incorporated, held on the third day of October 1966, at
Stratford, it was duly resolved as follows:

In pursuance and exercise of the powers under section 33
of the Gaming Act 1908, it is hereby resolved that the
following shall be regulations under the said section 33
controlling the admission of persons to that part of the
property owned by the Egmont Racing Club (Incorporated)
situated in the District of Hawera (on Waihi Road), and
known as the Hawera Racecourse, or to any other racecourse
used or occupied by the Club for race meetings:

REGULATIONS

(Under the Gaming Act 1908)

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of
    the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.
  2. In these regulations the words "bookmaker", "racing
    club", and "race meeting" shall have the meanings ascribed
    to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act
  3. The following persons shall be, and are hereby, excluded
    from the racecourse above described, or any other racecourse
    while the same is used or occupied by the said Club for a
    race meeting, namely:

(a) Bookmakers.
(b) Bookmakers' clerks, bookmakers' assistants, and book-
makers' agents.
(c) All persons under disqualification imposed under the
New Zealand rules of racing, or the New Zealand
rules of Trotting, or by the racing or trotting
authorities in any country outside New Zealand
which have reciprocal agreements in matters of racing
or trotting with the New Zealand Racing Conference
or the New Zealand Trotting Conference.
(d) Common prostitutes, idle and disorderly persons within
the meaning of the Police Offences Act 1927.
(e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of housebreaking,
burglary, or pocket picking, forgery, uttering or
possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences,
receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any
offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act
1908; and persons convicted under the Police Offences
Act 1927 of conversion, or attempted conversion, of
a motor car or other vehicle, or of being idle and
disorderly persons, or of being a rogue and vagabond;
and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming
Act 1908 or persons having a criminal record in
countries outside New Zealand, and the references to
the foregoing Acts shall be deemed to apply to any
subsequent Act consolidating or in substitution
therefor.

Provided always that the executive committee appointed
by the New Zealand Trotting Conference, upon being satisfied
by evidence as to the character and otherwise that any person
who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of
this regulation should have relief from the effect thereof,
may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any
time revoke any such exemption without notice to such
person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.
