OAMARU BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

IN the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments, notice is hereby given that the Oamaru Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely, the widening of Derwent Street; and, for the purposes of such public work, the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for street. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Oamaru Borough Council, situate in Thames Street and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or by the taking of such land, who have any objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land (not being an objection to the amount or payment of compensation) must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, namely the 6th day of October 1966, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Thames Street, Oamaru.

SOUTHLAND CATCHMENT BOARD

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

NOTICE of intention to take land for soil conservation and river-control purposes in the Mabel Hundred and Forest Hill Hundred.

Notice is hereby given that the Southland Catchment Board proposes to carry out certain river-control works on the Makarewa River, including the straightening of portions thereof; and that, in pursuance of the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, the said Board proposes to take the several pieces of land described in the Schedule hereto for such purposes.

And notice is hereby further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken are deposited in the office of the said Board, Spey Street, Invercargill, and are there open for inspection, without fee; and that all persons affected by the execution of such works or the taking of such lands should, if they have any objections to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing and send such writing within 40 days from the date of this notice (being the date of first publication thereof) to the said Board’s office at the above address (postal address: P.O. Box 408, Invercargill).

BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Council Chambers Loan 1966

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Bay of Islands County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £35,000, authorised to be raised by the Bay of Islands County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting new council chambers at Kawakawa, the said Bay of Islands County Council hereby makes a special rate of one-fifth of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value (based on the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Bay of Islands; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency
