The Avondale College Board of Governors Order 1966

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 3rd day of August 1966
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to sections 50 and 51 of the Education Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- This order may be cited as the Avondale College Board of Governors Order 1966.
- The Board of Governors of Avondale College shall be constituted as follows:
(a) One member appointed by the Auckland Education Board;
(b) Six members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school;
(c) One member appointed by the Auckland City Council;
(d) One member appointed by the Avondale Old Pupils’ Association;
(e) One member co-opted by the Board itself, if and when it thinks fit. - The Order in Council made on the 12th day of May 1953*, constituting the Board of Managers of Avondale Technical School, is hereby revoked.

Appointments, Promotions, and Terminations of Appointment in the Royal New Zealand Navy
PURSUANT to the Navy Act 1954, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, and terminations of appointment in the Royal New Zealand Navy;
Captain L. S. Stanners, O.B.E., placed on the Retired List, to date 30 June 1966, and reappointed (to continue to serve in the rank of Commodore).
Captain B. E. Turner, O.B.E., D.S.C., placed on the Retired List, to date 7 July 1966 (to continue to serve in the rank of Commodore).
Commanders F. Hardman and M. J. McDowell, promoted to the rank of Captain, to date 30 June 1966, and reappointed.
Lieutenant Commander I. S. Monro granted the acting rank of Commander whilst holding present appointment, to date 27 June 1966.
Lieutenant Commander R. N. M. Lea promoted to rank of Commander, to date 30 June 1966, and reappointed.
Instructor Lieutenant Commander G. H. Lewis released (engagement completed), to date 5 June 1966; placed on the Retired List, to date 6 June 1966.
Surgeon Lieutenant Commander (D) T. H. Logan, B.D.S., H.D.D.R.F.P.S.(GLAS.), granted the acting rank of Surgeon Commander (D) whilst holding present appointment, to date 26 May 1966; promoted to rank of Surgeon Commander (D), to date 30 June 1966, and reappointed.
Lieutenant Commander (Sp.) B. D. Pope, RNZN (Retired), released (engagement completed), to date 6 July 1966.
Lieutenant C. J. Carl promoted to rank of Lieutenant Commander, to date 16 April 1966, and reappointed.
Lieutenant K. J. Lewis, promoted to rank of Lieutenant Commander, to date 1 June 1966, and reappointed.
Lieutenant J. T. Ford, released (at own request), to date 2 July 1966; placed on the Emergency List, to date 3 July 1966.
Lieutenant F. J. Rolton, engagement extended to 30 September 1966. (To continue to serve in acting rank of Lieutenant Commander whilst holding present appointment.)
Lieutenant (Sp.) D. J. Barnes, M.SC., engagement extended to 21 July 1966; to be released (Short Service Commission completed), to date 21 July 1966; placed on the Emergency List, to date 22 July 1966.
Sub Lieutenants J. G. Leonard and K. F. Wilson, promoted to rank of Lieutenant, to date 1 May 1966, with seniority of 1 April 1966 and 16 March 1966 respectively, and reappointed.

Erl Travice Pleasants, Esquire, M.B.E., E.D., of Auckland, barrister
to be a judge of the Courts Martial Appeal Court, to hold office for a term of three years from the date hereof.

Frederick McCarthy, Esquire, of Auckland, stipendiary magistrate
to be a judge of the Courts Martial Appeal Court, to hold office for a term of three years from the date hereof.
