Closely Populated Locality Declared and Limited Speed Zone Declared
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:
-
The Warrant under regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, dated the 22nd day of August 1958† which relates to Turangi Township in Taupo County is hereby revoked.
-
The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
-
The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.
FIRST SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Taupo County at Turangi Township:
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-eastern side of No. 41 State Highway (Taumarunui-Turangi) 11 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said State highway from Pautaata Street; thence north-easterly generally by a right line to a point in the middle of Hirangi Road, 12 chains measured westerly generally along the said road from Papua Street, and the production of that right line to the southern bank of the Tongariro River; thence easterly and south-easterly generally along the said southern bank of the Tongariro River to the north-western side of No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff); thence south-westerly generally along that roadside to the north-eastern side of No. 41 State Highway (Taumarunui-Turangi); thence north-westerly generally along the said north-eastern side of No. 41 State Highway (Taumarunui-Turangi) to the commencing point; the boundary of the whole area being further indicated in red on the plan T.T. 4004 deposited in the Head Office of the Transport Department in Wellington.
SECOND SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Taupo County at Turangi Township:
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from Taupehi Road to a point 40 chains measured northerly generally along the said State highway from the northern end of the Tongariro River bridge).
Taupehi Road (from its northern intersection with No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 12 chains measured southerly generally along the said Taupehi Road from Kutai Street).

The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 20th day of May 1958*, which relates to Whangamata in Thames County is hereby revoked.

The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

No. 25 State Highway (Pipirola-Waihi via Coromandel) (from a point 5 chains measured southerly generally along the said State Highway from Achilles Avenue to a point 3 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said State Highway from Whangamata Port Road).
