Special Order Made by Hawke’s Bay County Council

PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Hawke’s Bay County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER

PURSUANT to section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, the Hawke’s Bay County Council has resolved, by way of special order, to alter the boundaries between Maraekakaho and Poukawa ridings and Meeanee and Puketapu ridings as described in the attached Schedule.

The alteration hereby made shall take effect on the day on which it is gazetted.

SCHEDULE

MARAEEKAKAHO RIDING

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Hawke’s Bay County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Mangaonuku Stream in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block X, Maraekakaho Survey District; thence north-westerly up the middle of the Mangaonuku Stream to a point in line with the original north-eastern boundary of Block 3, Gwavas Crown Grant District, in Block IV, Wakarara Survey District, to and along that boundary to Kereru Road, along a right line to and again along that said north-eastern boundary to a public road; thence south-westerly and southerly along the north-western boundaries of the said Block 3 and the north-western and western boundaries of Blocks 1 and 5 and again Block 1, all of Gwavas Crown Grant District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Mangaonuku Stream; thence north-westerly up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block XI, Wakarara Survey District, to and along that boundary to the northernmost point of the said Section 1; thence westerly along a right line to the confluence of the Makaroro River and the Makaroro Stream, Block IX, Wakarara Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station 30 (Aorangi), in Block XI, Pukeohahu Survey District, Wellington Land District, to the intersection of that line and the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence northerly generally along the summit of the Ruahine Range to Trig. Station Y, Block XVIII, Ngaruroro Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to a point in the middle of the Taruarau River in line with the south-western boundary of Block 78, Maraekakaho Crown Grant District in Block VI, Ngaruroro Survey District; thence down the middle of the Taruarau River to and down the middle of the Ngaruroro River to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 5, Block XIII, Ngaruroro Survey District; thence easterly to and along that boundary and the northern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 9910, Part Lot 2 on S.O. 3720, again Lot 2, D.P. 9910 and Lot 1, D.P. 9910, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of No. 50 State Highway; thence south-westerly along the middle of that highway to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 1795; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary and the north-eastern boundaries of Lot 5, D.P. 1795, Lots 1 and 5, D.P. 9765, Lot 1, D.P. 5164, part Lot 1, D.P. 2142, Lots 13, 16, and 18, D.P. 10360, Lot 2, D.P. 1876, and again Lot 18, D.P. 10360, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Maraekakaho Road; thence north-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the middle of Raukawa Road; thence south-westerly to and along the middle of Raukawa Road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Part Lot 1, D.P. 5113, to and along that boundary to the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 1792; thence southerly to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of Raukawa Road; thence south-westerly generally along the middle of that road and the middle of the Raukawa-Te Onepu Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Part Lot 3, D.P. 2207, in Block VII, Maraekakaho Survey District, to and along that boundary and the western boundary of that lot, to and along the northern and north-western boundaries of Sections 6, 4, and 9, Block XI, Maraekakaho Survey District and the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block X, Maraekakaho Survey District, to and along the eastern, northern, and western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 10207, to and again along the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block X, aforesaid, and the production of that boundary to the point of commencement.

POUKAWA RIDING

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Hawke’s Bay County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the No. 2 State Highway in line with the middle of Boundary Road, in Block XVI, Maraekakaho Survey District; thence south-westerly along the middle of that State Highway to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 5103; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary and the north-eastern boundaries of part Lot 29, D.P. 4416 and Section 1, Block XV, Maraekakaho Survey District, to Te Onepu Road and along a right line to the eastern corner of Section 1, Block XIV, Maraekakaho Survey District, along the north-eastern boundaries, of the said Section 1 to its northern corner then along a right line to a point in the middle of the Mangaonuku Stream in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block X, Maraekakaho Survey District; thence north-easterly generally to and along that boundary, to and along the western, northern, and eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 10207, to and again along the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block X, Maraekakaho Survey District, and the north-western and northern boundaries of Sections 9, 4, and 6, Block XI, Maraekakaho Survey District, to and along the western and northern boundaries of part Lot 3, D.P. 2207, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Raukawa-Te Onepu Road, along the middle of that road and the middle of Raukawa Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 1792; thence northerly to and along that boundary to the south-eastern boundary of Part Lot 1, D.P. 5113; thence north-easterly along that boundary and its production to and along the middle of Raukawa Road to the middle of Maraekakaho Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of Maraekakaho Road to and along the middle of the Bridge Pa-Pakipaki Road to and along the middle of the Farndon-Pakipaki Road to the middle of the No. 2 State Highway; thence north-easterly along the middle of the State Highway to and along the middle of Te Aute Road to a point in line with the eastern side of the Wellington-Napier Railway; thence south-westerly generally to and along the eastern side of that railway and its production to the middle of Boundary Road, in Block XVI, Maraekakaho Survey District; thence north-westerly along the middle of Boundary Road and its production to the point of commencement.

MEEANEE RIDING

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Hawke’s Bay County, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast due east of the middle of the Tutaekuri River at the road bridge near its mouth in Block I, Clive Survey District, and proceeding westerly to and up the middle of that river to the middle of a public road forming the south-western boundary of Lot 2, Deeds Plan 963; thence south-easterly and south-westerly along the middle of that road to its junction with the middle of Brookfields Road and south-westerly along the middle of that road and its production to the south-western side of the Waiohiki-Pakowhai Road; thence north-westerly along that roadside to the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block XII, Heretaunga Survey District; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the left bank of the Tutaekuriwaimate Stream; thence due south along a right line to the middle of that stream; thence generally southerly down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the northern boundary of the land taken for riverworks as shown on plan S.O. 4462; thence easterly along the boundary and its production to the middle of the Waiohiki-Pakowhai Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of that road to the middle of the Farndon-Pakipaki Road; thence south-westerly along the middle of that road to the middle of the Ngaruroro River; thence westerly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 6071; thence easterly to and along that boundary to the southernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 2459; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary and north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of that lot and its production to the middle of the No. 50 State Highway; thence north-easterly along the middle of that highway to the right bank of the Tutaekuri River; thence easterly along that bank to the eastern side of the Redclyffe Bridge; thence northerly along that side of that bridge to the left bank of the said river; thence up that bank to the middle of the Redclyffe Bridge; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the middle of the No. 50 State Highway to a point in line with the south-western boundary of part Lot 2, D.P. 4846; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary to the north-western boundary of that lot; thence north-easterly along that boundary and the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4846, to the north-eastern boundary of that Lot 1; thence south-easterly along that boundary to the north-western boundary of part Lot 6, D.P. 4846; thence north-easterly along that boundary to the end of a public road; thence along the end of that road to the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 6758; thence northerly generally along that boundary and the south-western and western boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 7489, and the production of that boundary to the western side of O’Dowd Road; thence along that side of O’Dowd Road to a point in line with the production of the middle line of O’Dowd Road, being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Taradale; thence south-easterly generally to and along the middle of O’Dowd Road to its intersection with the middle line of Gloucester Street; thence south-westerly along the middle of that street to its intersection with the middle of a public road forming the north-eastern boundary of Suburban Section 83, Meeanee; thence south-easterly along the middle of that public road to its intersection with the middle of a public road forming the southern boundary of Lot 2 and part Lot 1, D.P. 6891; thence generally easterly and northerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 2364; thence northerly to and along that boundary to its northernmost point; thence easterly along the
