Allocating Land Taken for a Railway to the Purposes of Street at Ngaruawahia

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the Gazette, become street, and that the said street shall be under the control of the Ngaruawahia Borough Council and shall be maintained by the said council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said council.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land allocated to street:

0 1 2·9 Lot 34, L.T. Plan 10156, being parts Sections 552 and 556, Suburbs of Newcastle South.
Situated in Block VII, Newcastle Survey District.
A. R. P. Railway land being
0 0 25·2 Lot 35, L.T. Plan 10156, being part Section 556, Suburbs of Newcastle South.
Situated in Blocks VII and VIII, Newcastle Survey District.
Both situated in the Borough of Ngaruawahia.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 20576, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon edged green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 31st day of May 1966.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 1st day of June 1966
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a meeting place, recreation ground, and sports ground for the common use and benefit of the Ngatihau Maori people in particular, and of the public in general.
