PURSUANT to section 439 (5) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes
the Order in Council made on 16 April 1963 and published
in Gazette, 24 April 1963, Volume I, page 553, and affecting
the land set out in the Schedule hereto.

His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
revokes the Order in Council made on 8 July 1964 and
published in Gazette, 16 July 1964, Volume II, page 1139, and
affecting the land set out in the Schedule hereto.

Authorising Robert Cleghorn, of Dunedin, Motor Engineer,
to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity
and to Erect Certain Electric Lines

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency,
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to Robert
Cleghorn, of Dunedin, motor engineer (hereinafter referred
to as the licensee) a licence, subject to the conditions herein-
after set forth, to use water in the Kawarau River (herein-
after referred to as the said stream), for the purpose of
generating electricity and to lay, construct, put up, place
and use the electric lines hereinafter described.

CONDITIONS

IMPLIED CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by
    the Waterpower Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply
    Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form
    part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be
    inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

  1. This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations
    1934, and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical Supply
    Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the
    Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and to all regulations
    hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution
    therefor respectively.

UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS

  1. Water from the said stream shall be used under this
    licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity at a
    point opposite Section 16, Block IV, Cromwell Survey
    District, indicated on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 686 deposited
    in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at
    Wellington.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

  1. The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions
    hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works
    for the purpose of this licence, the positions of the said works
    being indicated on the said plan N.Z.E.D. 686.
    (a) A propellor-driven turbine encased in a cylinder of ⅛"
    steel plate supported by four deflector fins, and anchored close to
    the bank on the bed of the said stream and connected mechanically
    to a generator located on the bank of the said stream
    opposite Section 16, Block IV, Cromwell Survey District.
    (b) Electric lines leading from the powerhouse in a north-
    easterly direction to the licensee's house.

DURATION OF LICENCE

  1. This licence, unless sooner lawfully determined, shall
    continue in force until the 31st day of March 1987.

SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

  1. The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph
    (j) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations
    1935, and shall be a direct current system at a normal rated
    pressure of 110 volts.

RENTAL

  1. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum
    payable in respect of this licence, the present plant is rated
    as for a maximum capacity of 1½ kilowatts.

NO RIGHT TO WATER CONFERRED

  1. Nothing in this licence shall of itself confer upon the
    licensee any right to water.

Creighton Bell, both of Waihaorunga, Waimate, Sheep
Farmers, to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating
Electricity and to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensees,
hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 5th day of
July 1961 and published in the Gazette on the 6th day of July
1961, at page 951, authorising John Alexander Bell and John
Creighton Bell, sheep farmers of Waihaorunga, Waimate, to
use water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect
and use certain electric lines.
