Appointment of Deputy Member of Government Service Tribunal

PURSUANT to sections 3 and 4 of the Government Service Tribunal Act 1965, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, hereby appoints

Geoffrey Victor Wild, Esquire,

as a member of the Government Service Tribunal to act in the place of George Thomas Bolt, Esquire, C.M.G. in respect of the hearing, consideration, and determination by the Tribunal of the applications now before the Tribunal relating to the maximum salary payable to head teachers of full primary and contributory schools of grade IV, the said George Thomas Bolt being incapacitated from acting as a member of the Tribunal in respect of the hearing, consideration, and determination of those applications by reason of his having been a member of the Commission on Education in New Zealand constituted by the Minister of Education in 1960.

Exempting Land in the Otago Land District From the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby gives the following notice.


NOTICE

THE land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.


SCHEDULE

ALL those parcels of land containing 4 acres and 3 roods, more or less, being Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 21, and 22, Block XIII, Town of Kaitangata, and Sections 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22, Block XIV, Town of Kaitangata, and being the whole of the land in certificates of title, Volume 82, folio 150, and Volume 92, folio 224, and part of land in certificate of title, Volume 94, folio 134, in the Otago Land Registry.

Appointing a Non-elective Member of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council

WHEREAS by Warrant dated 11 October 1963, and published in Gazette, 17 October 1963, No. 63, page 1604, Harry Lancelot Hume, Esquire, B.E., B.SC., M.I.C.E., was appointed as the officer of the Ministry of Works to be a member of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council:

And whereas the said Harry Lancelot Hume has retired from the Ministry of Works and consequently resigned from membership of the said Council:

And whereas it is desired to appoint Frank Richardson Askin to be a member of the said Council in place of Harry Lancelot Hume:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 3 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

Frank Richardson Askin, B.SC., M.I.C.E., D.I.C.

of Wellington, registered civil engineer, as the officer of the Ministry of Works, to be a member of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council to hold office until the 10th day of October 1968.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 28th day of April 1966.

to be High Commissioner for New Zealand in Singapore under and for the purposes of the External Affairs Act 1943, to hold the said office as from the 14th day of February 1966 until the 13th day of February 1968.
