TAUMARUNUI COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROADS AND TO CLOSE ROADS

In the matter of the Counties Act 1956 and its amendments, and in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments, notice is hereby given that the Taumarunui County Council proposes under the provisions of the abovementioned Acts to execute a certain public work, namely, the construction of roads and for the purpose of such work the lands described in the First Schedule hereto are required to be taken and the roads described in the Second Schedule hereto are required to be closed; and notice is hereby further given that the plans of the lands required to be taken and of the roads to be closed are deposited at the public office of the said Council situated in Miriama Street, Taumarunui, and are open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary business hours. All persons affected by the taking of the said lands or the closing of the said roads if they have any objections (which are not objections as to the amount or payment of compensation) which they may wish to make to the taking of the said lands or the closing of the said roads must state their objections in writing and send the same within 40 days from the first publication of this notice on the 7th day of April 1966, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers, and if any such objections are made a public hearing of any objection will be arranged by the Council, unless the objector requires otherwise, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of the hearing, and at any such hearing the objector shall be advised of the reasons for the proposed taking of lands or closing of roads with which the objection is concerned.
