1966, presented to the said Court by Victor Alfred Slack, of

petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at
Wellington on the 11th day of May 1966, at 10 a.m.; and any
creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to
support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition

In the matter of the Companies Act 1955, and in the matter
of New Zealand Publishing Co. Ltd., a company duly incor-
porated in New Zealand and having its registered office at
Wellington and carrying on business as publishers, notice is
hereby given that the order of the Supreme Court of New
Zealand, dated the 15th day of March 1966, confirming the
reduction of capital of the above-named company from £2,000
to £1,000 and the minute approved by the Court showing,
with respect to the capital of the company as altered, the
several particulars required by the above-mentioned Act, was
registered by the Registrar of Companies on the 26th day of
April 1966. The said minute is in the words following:

“'That, the capital of the New Zealand Publishing Co. Ltd.
be reduced from £2,000 divided into 2,000 shares of £1 each
to £1,000 divided into 2,000 shares of 10s. each, and that such
reduction of capital be effected by returning to the holders of
each of the 2,000 shares to the extent of 10s. per share and
by reducing the nominal amount of each share to 10s. per
share.'”

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROADS AND FOR RIVER
CONTROL PURPOSES AND TO CLOSE ROADS

In the matter of the Counties Act 1956 and its amendments,
and in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its
amendments, and in the matter of the Soil Conservation and
Rivers Control Act 1941 and its amendments, notice is hereby
given that the Taumarunui County Council proposes under
the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute certain
public works, namely, the construction of roads and river
control works and for the purpose of such works the lands
described in the First Schedule hereto are required to be
taken for roads, and the lands described in the Second
Schedule hereto are required to be taken for river control
purposes, and the roads described in the Third Schedule
hereto are required to be closed; and notice is hereby further
given that the plan of the lands required to be taken and of
the roads to be closed is deposited at the public office of
the said Council situated in Miriama Street, Taumarunui,
and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during
ordinary business hours. All persons affected by the taking of
the said lands or the closing of the said roads if they have
any objections (which are not objections as to the amount
or payment of compensation) which they may wish to make
to the taking of the said lands or the closing of the said
roads must state their objections in writing and send the
same within 40 days from the first publication of this notice
on the 7th day of April 1966, to the County Clerk at the
Council Chambers, and if any such objections are made a
public hearing of any objection will be arranged by the
Council, unless the objector requires otherwise, and each
objector will be advised of the time and place of hearing,
and at any such hearing the objector shall be advised of the
reasons for the proposed taking of land or closing of roads
with which the objection is concerned.
