by a manufacturer for use by him only in making knives
in which the handles are produced in New Zealand from
local woods or by plastic moulding
Handles, knife, of bone or xylonite, unbored
Knobs and nuts, turned, also cake dish joints, handles and
egg cup feet in the rough
Stampings and spinnings, other than fork and spoon blanks,
not built up, of metal other than precious metal, once
buffed, declared by an electroplater for plating by him
Examples—
Stampings with a trade name stamped thereon. Trays in
the form of rough stampings which have subsequently
been chased
Stampings, knife handle, in halves with edges mitred for
jointing, but otherwise unworked and knife blades, stain-
less steel, with mirror finish, for manufacture into knives
using such stampings
Trays or dishes of nickel silver, once buffed, with edges
turned over, to be subsequently plated
The term “once buffed” is to include only the buffing
which is done to determine whether or not the stampings
are free from flaws. Trays or dishes built up in any way,
e.g. with base or stand attached, are not admissible
under this decision
Plywood, impregnated with synthetic resin, of approved
qualities

(3) Leather finishes
(4) Printing inks
(5) Plastics
(6) Chalks
(7) Flooring compounds
(8) Wallpaper
(9) Yarns for identification purposes
Paper making—

Perambulators—
Cane (split strips), enamelled
Platedware and cutlery—
Blanks, stamped, of metal, other than precious metal,
branded, bowed, or bent, initially filed or fettled, but not
further worked for making spoons, forks, and butter

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that as at the close of business on 4 March 1966, and until further notice, balances to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each trading bank shall be equal to an amount which, when added to that bank’s holdings of Reserve Bank notes as disclosed in that bank’s latest available weekly return of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955, will be not less than the aggregate of: 28 per cent of that bank’s demand deposits in New Zealand plus 3 per cent of that bank’s time deposits in New Zealand (excluding wool retention deposits) as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 31 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964.
The balances to be maintained as aforesaid shall be exclusive of any balance held by a trading bank in its wool retention or special fund account at the Reserve Bank.
