IN the matter of the Life Insurance Act 1908, notice has been given to the Public Trustee that for many years past the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States and the New York Life Insurance Co. have not carried on the business of life insurance in New Zealand and that it is proposed to withdraw the deposits which have been made with the Public Trustee pursuant to section 3 of the above-mentioned Act.
The Public Trustee therefore gives notice pursuant to section 12 (2) of the above-mentioned Act, that he proposes to release on or after the 30th day of April 1965 the deposits made with him by the said companies, unless retention of any part thereof is then regarded as necessary.
Any objections to the release of the deposits should be sent to the Public Trustee, P.O. Box 5024, Wellington C.1, on or before the 31st day of March 1965.

MOUNT ROSKILL BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Storm-water Drainage Loan 1964, £30,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Mount Roskill Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of thirty thousand pounds (£30,000) authorised to be raised by the Mount Roskill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of undertaking storm-water drainage work in various parts of the borough and meeting costs incidental thereto, the said Mount Roskill Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought five three one pence (0·0531d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Mount Roskill; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be paid yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being for a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
Passed at a meeting of council held on the 26th day of January 1965.
