Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of two hundred and seventy-five thousand pounds (£275,000) authorised to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting public rental flats and pensioner units, the Wellington City Council hereby makes a special rate of eighty-three one-thousandths of a penny (0·083d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of forty (40) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

BALCLUTHA BOROUGH COUNCIL


RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE


Sewerage Renewal Loan 1965, £17,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Balclutha Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £17,000 authorised to be raised by the Balclutha Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of meeting the difference between the original amounts set aside on annual redemption and the original amounts of 4 per cent and 4½ per cent portions of the Sewerage Loan 1953 due for repayment in the current financial year, the said Balclutha Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of 0·4171d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Balclutha; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable annually on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 15 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

It is not proposed to collect this special rate as the annual charges on the loans will be met from revenues of the general account and accounts of the trading departments concerned.

CARDRONA RABBIT BOARD


NOTICE OF SPECIAL RATE


PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Cardrona Rabbit Board has resolved, on the 5th day of October 1965:

“That for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of five thousand pounds (£5,000) authorised to be raised by the Cardrona Rabbit Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing housing accommodation for the Board’s employees, the said Cardrona Rabbit Board hereby makes a special rate of 0·715d. per acre on all the rateable property in the Cardrona Rabbit District; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

WANAKA RABBIT BOARD


NOTICE OF SPECIAL RATE


PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wanaka Rabbit Board has resolved, on the 28th day of September 1965.

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500) authorised to be raised by the Wanaka Rabbit Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing housing accommodation for the Board’s employees, the said Wanaka Rabbit Board hereby makes a special rate of 0·374d. per acre on all the rateable property in the Wanaka Rabbit District; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Changes of the City of Whangarei District Scheme—Sixth Series

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to a resolution of the Council made on the 6th day of October 1965, the Council recommended that the operative district scheme be changed in respect of the matters listed in the Schedule hereto.

The changes of the district scheme, as now recommended by the Council, have been deposited in the Town Hall and the Public Library, and are there open for inspection by all persons interested therein, without fee, at any time when the above places are open to the public.

Objection to the proposed changes of the district scheme may be made by way of written notice in form E, prescribed in the First Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1960, or the like effect, marked “Objection to Scheme Change”, and lodged at the office of the Council at any time not later than 3 December 1965. An appropriate form for use of objectors is available from the Town Hall or from the Public Library.

At a later date every objection will be open for public inspection. Any person who wishes to support or oppose any objection will then be entitled to be heard at the hearing of objections if he notifies the Council in writing within a period of which public notice will be given.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL


PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of ratepayers of the Russell Town District, taken on the 9th day of October 1965 on the proposal of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of £80,000 to be known as the Water Supply Loan 1964 for the purpose of providing a public water supply for the Russell Town District, resulted as follows:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was ...... 70
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 185
The number of informal votes was ...... ...... 3

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
