Special Order Made by Taumarunui County Council Altering Riding Boundaries
PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Taumarunui County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER
THAT in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act 1956 and amendments thereto, the Taumaruini County Council resolves by way of special order as follows:
- The present division of the County of Taumarunui into 11 ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into 10 ridings to be called respectively:
Waione
Hikurangi
Western Shores
Maungaku
Mihirangi
Manganui
Oio
Otunui
Tokirima
Ohura Valley
Each of the said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.
- The said Taumarunui County Council shall consist of 10 members who shall be elected as follows:
The electors of Waione, Hikurangi, Western Shores, Maungaku, Mihirangi, Manganui, Oio, Otunui, Tokirima, and Ohura Valley shall elect one councillor for their riding.
- The alterations hereby made shall take effect on the day of the gazetting by the Secretary for Internal Affairs.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF WESTERN SHORES RIDING
ALL that area of land in the South Auckland and Wellington Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at the southernmost corner of Tihoi No. 1 Block on the western shore of Lake Taupo in Block XIV, Marotiri Survey District, and proceeding thence in a southerly direction along that shore to the mouth of the Waihi Stream; thence south-westerly along a right line to Tongariro Trig. Station to its intersection with the middle of the Wanganui River in Block XII, Tongariro Survey District; thence north-westerly generally down the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 2, Block X, Maungaku Survey District; thence northerly along a right line to and along that boundary and the generally eastern boundaries of Section 1, Block X, aforesaid, to its northernmost corner; thence generally westerly along the southern boundaries of Ruamata and Hohotaka 1A Blocks to the westernmost corner of Hohotaka 1A Block; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Hohotaka 1A and part Puketapu 2A to the southernmost corner of part Puketapu 3A (scenic reserve, Gazette, 1953, p. 1573); thence generally northerly along the eastern boundary of part Puketapu 3A (scenic reserve, Gazette, 1953, p. 1573) to peg LXVII, M.L. Plan 17162, situated in Block XIV, Puketapu Survey District; thence northerly along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Puketapu 3B 10A Block; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of Section 1, Block XIV, Puketapu Survey District, to the northernmost corner of that section; thence generally northerly along the western boundaries of Hauhangaroa 1c, 11, 10, and 9 Blocks to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned block; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Waihaha part 1, 2, and 3A Blocks to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned block; thence generally south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Tihoi 3B 8A, part (3B 8B 2B, 3B 8B 3, 3B 8B 4, 3B 8B 6, 3B 8B 8) B, and Tihoi No. 1 to the point of commencement.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Taumarunui, bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station Tongariro in Block XIII, Tongariro Survey District, and proceeding westerly along a right line to Trig. Station Okupata being the easternmost corner of Taurewa 2B in Block X, Tongariro Survey District; thence along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of the said section to its westernmost corner; thence north-westerly along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Waimarino E 6B in Block VIII, Kaitieke Survey District; thence along the northern boundary of that section and the northern boundary of Waimarino E 7B and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the western side of the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence northerly along the western side of that railway to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 4, Block VIII, Kaitieke Survey District; thence to and along that boundary to the eastern boundary of Lot 1 of Section 3, Block VIII, aforesaid; thence generally northerly along the eastern boundary of the said Lot 1 of Section 3, the eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 2 of Section 3, Block VIII, aforesaid, to its northernmost corner; thence generally southerly along the north-western boundary of the said Lot 2, the generally northern boundary of Section 2, and the generally western boundary of Section 1, Block VIII, aforesaid, and its production to the middle of the Oio No. 1 Road; thence generally south-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 2, Block VI, Kaitieke Survey District; thence to and along that boundary and the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of Section 1, Block X, Kaitieke Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Kaitieke Road; thence generally easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 38, Block X, aforesaid; thence to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Mangaohae Road; thence north-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 37, Block X, aforesaid; thence to and along that boundary and along the generally western boundary of that section to the south-easternmost corner of Section 55, Block X, aforesaid; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that section and its production to the middle of Retaruke Road; thence generally south-easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 7, D.P. 13364; thence to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Retaruke River; thence up the middle of that river to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 13, Block XIV, Kaitieke Survey District; thence to and along that boundary and the northern boundary of Section 12, Block XIV, aforesaid, to the northern corner of Section 1, Block XIII, Kaitieke Survey District; thence generally southerly along the north-eastern boundaries of that section and Section 7, the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 8, Block XIII, aforesaid, to the middle of Ruatiti Stream, being a point on the boundary of the County of Taumarunui as described in Gazette, 1962, page 80; thence to and along that boundary and the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 4, 2, and 3, Block VII, aforesaid, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Te Rata Road; thence along the middle of that road, the Kaitieke-Tawata road, and the Kokakoriki Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block VIII, Retaruke Survey District; thence generally north-easterly to and along that boundary, the north-western boundaries of Sections 1 and 7, Block I, Kaitieke Survey District, the eastern boundary of Section 5, Block I, aforesaid, crossing the Pokatea-Kokakonui road, the southern boundary of Section 8, Block VII, Hunua Survey District, and its production to the middle of the Pokatea-Kokakonui road; thence down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Taurewa 4 West E 2B 3B 2; thence to and along that boundary and along the north-western boundaries of Taurewa 4 West E 2B 3A 1, Taurewa 4 West E 2B 1, Lot 6, D.P. 6050, Lot 8, D.P. 7313, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Wanganui River in Block I, Waimanu Survey District, and up the middle of that river to its intersection with the middle of No. 47 State Highway; thence south-easterly along a right line to the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF MANGANUI RIDING
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Taumarunui, bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station Tongariro in Block XII, Tongariro Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the Oio riding hereinbefore described and proceeding generally westerly along that boundary to a point in the middle of Ruatiti Stream, being a point on the boundary of the County of Taumarunui as described in Gazette, 1962, page 79; thence generally easterly along that boundary to the point of commencement.
