Roads Excluded From Speed Limitation and Limited Speed Zone Declared

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 18th day of July 1956,* and the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956†, dated the 6th day of June 1962‡, which relate to East Coast Bays Borough, are hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956§.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Situated within East Coast Bays Borough:

East Coast Road.
Forrest Hill Road (from the southern boundary of East Coast Bays Borough to East Coast Road).
Glenvar Road (from the northern boundary of East Coast Bays Borough to County Road).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within East Coast Bays Borough and Waitemata County adjacent to East Coast Bays Borough:

East Coast Road (from the southern boundary of East Coast Bays Borough to a point 6 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said road from Arran Road).
Forrest Hill Road (from the southern boundary of East Coast Bays Borough to East Coast Road).

Closely Populated Locality and Limited Speed Zone Declared

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* dated the 19th day of December 1962†, which relates to Forrest Hill Road in Waitemata County, is hereby revoked.

  2. The area specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

FIRST SCHEDULE

Situated within Waitemata County adjacent to Takapuna City and East Coast Bays Borough:

All that area, with the exception of the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the south-eastern side of Sunset Road with the western boundary of East Coast Bays Borough; thence southerly generally along the western boundary of East Coast Bays Borough and the north-western boundary of Takapuna City to the north-eastern side of the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff); thence by a right line northerly generally to a point on the south-eastern side of Sunset Road 30 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said roadside from the western boundary of East Coast Bays Borough; thence north-easterly generally along that roadside to the commencing point; the boundary of the whole area being further indicated on the plan TT. 4001, deposited in the Head Office of the Transport Department in Wellington.

SECOND SCHEDULE

Situated within Waitemata County adjacent to East Coast Bays Borough:

Forrest Hill Road (from the southern boundary of East Coast Bays Borough to a point 8 chains measured southerly generally along the said road from Havelock Avenue).

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964

Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964,* the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 16 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy special-type vehicles shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964* to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy special-type vehicle in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy special-type vehicle for any other purpose.
