Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 13th day of September 1965.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT

All that piece of land containing 3 roods 14-4 perches situated in Block XI, Whataroa Survey District, Westland R.D., being part Section 4010. All of the land in Proclamation No. 748, Westland Land Registry.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block XV, Nukumaru Survey District, for Road (Reconstruction Through Kai Iwi on the No. 3 State Highway North of Wanganui)

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Wanganui and is there open for inspection, and that every person affected by the taking of the land should set forth in writing any objection he may wish to make to the execution of such works or to the taking of the land, not being an objection to the amount of compensation, and send the written objections, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Notice of Approval of Bylaws

Pursuant to sections 8 (a) and 165 of the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby gives notice that he approves the Manukau County Council's Bylaw No. 8, 1965, made by the Manukau County Council on 23 March 1965.

Declaring Area Exempted From Portions of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962

Pursuant to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, the Minister of Marine hereby declares that, for a period of five years from the date hereof, subject to compliance with the conditions set out in the Second Schedule hereto, regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 shall not apply to the area described in the First Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

All the water of Lake Arapuni within 200 yards of the eastern lake shore bounded by parallel lines 1 mile apart extending in a 242Β° (true) direction, the northernmost boundary commencing at a point on the lake shore 6 chains north-west of the Waotu Water Ski Club's clubhouse.

SECOND SCHEDULE

The northernmost and southernmost boundaries of the area set out in the First Schedule shall each be marked as follows:

(a) Marker buoys either barrel, drum, or spherical shaped, painted orange with a vertical black stripe, at distances of 50 yards, 100 yards, 150 yards, and 200 yards from the edge of the water shall be suitably moored along each side of the access lane.

(b) At the edge of the lake at normal lake level at the end of the northernmost boundary shall be placed a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft, painted white with black letters, and containing the following notice:

"NOTICE

Motor Launch Regulations 1962

No speed restrictions for motor launches and water skiers for 1 mile south-east of this notice".

(c) At the edge of the lake at normal lake level at the end of the southernmost boundary shall be placed a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft, painted white with black letters, and containing the following notice:

"NOTICE

Motor Launch Regulations 1962

No speed restrictions for motor launches and water skiers for 1 mile north-west of this notice".

Declaring Area for Speed Boats and Water Ski-ing for the Purpose of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962

Pursuant to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, the Minister of Marine hereby declares that for a period of five years from the date of this notice, subject to compliance with the conditions set out in the Second Schedule hereto -

(a) the area of water firstly described in the First Schedule hereto shall not be subject to regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 on any Sunday after 12 noon, except those Sundays between the 10th day of April and the 10th day of June inclusive, and between the 1st day of September and the 10th day of October inclusive, and

(b) the area of water secondly described in the First Schedule hereto shall not be subject to regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, except between the 10th day of April and the 10th day of June inclusive, and between the 1st day of September and the 10th day of October inclusive.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Firstly, all that area of water in the Waihao River bounded on the sides by lines commencing at a common point on the west bank of the Dead Arm at its junction with the river proper (a) the first of such lines running eastwards to a point on the north-east corner of the Waihao Box Reserve and (b) the second of such lines running due south-west to a point on the opposite bank of the river from the commencing point.

Secondly, all that area of water of approximately 2 miles in length in the Dead Arm of the Waihao River between the following lines (a) at the south, the first of the lines described in the area firstly described in the First Schedule and (b) at the north, the line commencing on the eastern bank of the Dead Arm of the river at a point approximately 2 miles north of the Box, where the Dead Arm first turns inland from the sea coast, and running due south-west to a point on the opposite bank.

SECOND SCHEDULE

  1. During the times in which regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 are not operative by virtue of this notice, there shall be placed on the banks of the river at the ends of the appropriate boundary lines notice boards containing the following notice:

"NOTICE

Motor Launch Regulations 1962

For a distance of approximately 2 miles from this notice in the Dead Arm of the river parallel to the sea coast the speed limit of 5 miles per hour does not apply."

  1. At the slipway near the Waihao Box there shall be placed a notice board containing the following notice:

"NOTICE

Motor Launch Regulations 1962

Except between 10 April and 10 June and between 1 September and 10 October the speed limit of 5 miles per hour shall not apply in the area of river and Dead Arm defined by notice boards:

(a) On any Sunday after 12 noon for a distance of 2 miles northward of a line drawn south-west across the river from a point on the west bank of the Dead Arm at its junction with the river proper;

(b) On any day for a distance of 2 miles northwards of a line drawn east across the river from a point on the west bank of the Dead Arm at its junction with the river proper."
