Constitution of Rural Fire District

H. E. BARROWCLOUGH, Administrator of the Government
ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 11th day of
August 1965
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT
IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955, His
Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, does
hereby constitute and declare the area described in the Schedule
hereto to be a rural fire district, to be known as the “Aupouri
Rural Fire District”; and does hereby specify the gumlands,
peat lands, and sand-dune areas in the said area as the
property for the protection of which the district is constituted;
and does hereby specify the period between the 1st day of
October in any one year and the 30th day of April in the
following year (both days inclusive) as a closed fire season
in the said district; and does hereby declare that this Order
in Council shall come into force and that the Aupouri Rural
Fire District shall become a rural fire district on the day
following publication of this Order in Council in the Gazette;
and does hereby prescribe that the said Aupouri Rural Fire
District shall be administered for the purposes of the said
Act by the Minister of Forests.

SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY
Aupouri Rural Fire District
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Mangonui
County, containing approximately 108,160 acres and bounded
generally as follows:

Commencing at Trig. Station Te Arai in Block III, Houhora
West Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly along a
right line to the junction of the southern side of Te Ahu Road
and the western side of the Tangoake Landing - Waipapakauri
Road in Block XVI, Muriwhenua Survey District; thence
south-easterly generally along the south-western side of the
last-mentioned road to a point in line with the north-western
boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 46546, in Block XI, Houhora East
Survey District, and along a right line to and along that north-
western boundary and its production to the south-western
shore of the Houhora Harbour; thence still south-easterly
generally and then southerly along the shores of that harbour,
along the sea coast and along the shores of Rangannu Bay to
a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 4, Block
V, Opoe Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along
the northern and western boundaries of the said Section 4,
to and along the north-eastern side of Kaikino Road to its
junction with the northern side of Kaimaumau Road; thence
southerly generally along the northern and western sides of
Kaimaumau Road, the eastern side of Te Paki - Waipapakauri
Road and the eastern side of Sweetwater Road to a point in line
with the western part of the south-eastern boundary of Section
38 Block VIII, Opoe Survey District; thence along a right line to
the northernmost corner of an area of closed road containing
7·2 perches in Block I, Ahipara Survey District, and shown on
S.O. Plan 42207; thence easterly and again southerly generally
along the southern side of the public road forming the generally
southern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 42839, to and along the
western side and southern end of Gills Road, to and up the
left bank of the Awanui River, up the middle of the Waihoe
Channel, and the middle of the Pukepoto Main Outfall to a
point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 18887,
in Block II, Ahipara Survey District; thence westerly to and
along that southern boundary, along a right line across a
public road to the south-eastern corner of Allotment 75,
Ahipara Parish, along the southern boundary of that allotment,
along another right line across a public road to the south-
eastern corner of Allotment 31, Ahipara Parish, and along
the southern boundary of that allotment to the eastern shore
of an un-named lake shown on N.Z.M.S. 2, Sheet N.9/6;
thence northerly generally along the shores of that lake, to
and down the middle of the stream flowing from the northern
end of the said lake, to and along the sea coast, and along the
north-western boundary of Section 2, Block III, Houhora West
Survey District, to the point of commencement.

As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No.
2/6 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest
Service at Wellington and thereon bordered red.

Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends
the Order in Council made on 1 May 1957* vesting the
control of the foreshore of the County of Hawera in Trustees
by omitting the name Arthur Malcolm Brown from the First
Schedule and inserting the name Ian Lyall Taylor.
