THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Kohi Roads and the middle of No. 3 State Highway to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 338, Okotuku District; then generally south-easterly to and along that boundary, crossing the Foxton - New Plymouth Railway, and the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 140, Okotuku District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Ihupuku Road; then north-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 6305; then generally southerly to and along the eastern and southern boundaries of Lot 5, the southern boundaries of Lot 4, D.P. 6305, and the production of the last boundary to the middle of Peat Road; then along the middle of Peat and Stewart Roads to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 7, D.P. 6306, to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of Waihihi Road, along the middle of that road and the road along the western boundary of Lot 15, D.P. 6306, to the sea coast; then generally south-easterly along the sea coast to the point of commencement, excluding therefrom the Town District of Waverley as described in Gazette, 1877, page 830, and Gazette, 1963, page 2041.
KOHI RIDING
ALL that area in the Taranaki and Wellington Land Districts, comprising portion of the Patea County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Whenuakura River at its mouth, and proceeding generally north-easterly up the middle of that river to the confiscation line, being a point on the boundary of the Kapara Riding hereinbefore described; then south-easterly along that boundary to the western boundary of the Waverley Riding hereinbefore described; then generally south-westerly along that boundary to the sea coast; then generally north-westerly along the sea coast to the point of commencement.
WHENUAKURA RIDING
ALL that area in the Taranaki and Wellington Land Districts, comprising portion of the Patea County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of State Highway No. 3 in the middle of the Whenuakura River, and proceeding generally westerly along the middle of the said State Highway No. 3 to the right bank of the Patea River; then northerly generally up the right bank of that river to the boundary of the Patea County; then north-easterly along that boundary to the boundary of the Kapara Riding as hereinbefore described; then generally south-easterly along that boundary to the middle of the Whenuakura River; then southerly generally down the middle of that river to the point of commencement.
PATEA RIDING
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, comprising portion of the Patea County, bounded by a line commencing on the sea coast at the north-western boundary of the Borough of Patea and proceeding generally north-westerly along the sea coast to the south-eastern boundary of Subdivision 2 of the Section 637, Patea District; then north-easterly generally along the south-eastern boundary of that subdivision to Manawapou Road; then by a right line across that road to and again north-easterly generally along the south-eastern boundary of Section 459, Patea District, to and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Section 457 and the south-eastern boundary of Section 455, all of Patea District, to and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 3974, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of South Road; then south-easterly along the middle of that road to the middle of Garsed Road; then northerly along the middle of Garsed and Joll Roads to the middle of Hursthouse Road; then south-easterly along the middle of Hursthouse Road to and north-easterly along the middle of Kakaramea Road to and south-easterly along the middle of Wilson Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Block II, Carlyle Survey District; then southerly, to and along that boundary to the southern boundary of Section 566, Patea District; then easterly along that boundary across Wilson Road to and along the southern boundary of Section 567, Patea District, to the right bank of the Patea River; then southerly along the right bank of that river to and generally along the north-western boundary of the Borough of Patea to the sea coast, being the point of commencement.
Also all that area in the Taranaki and Wellington Land Districts, comprising portion of Patea County, bounded by a line commencing on the sea coast in the middle of the mouth of the Whenuakura River and proceeding generally northerly up the middle of that river to the middle of State Highway No. 3; then westerly generally along the middle of that highway to the right bank of the Patea River; then southerly generally along the right bank of that river to the sea coast; then south-easterly generally along the sea coast to the point of commencement.
MANUTAHI RIDING
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, comprising portion of the Patea County, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast in the middle of the mouth of the Manawapou River; then north-easterly generally up the middle of that river and Ingahepe and Pungao Streams to the north-western boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 3185; then south-westerly along that boundary and its production to the middle of Hursthouse Road; then south-easterly along the middle of that road to the middle of Joll Road, being a point on the boundary of the Patea Riding as hereinbefore described; then south-westerly generally along that boundary to the sea coast; then north-westerly generally along the sea coast to the point of commencement.
HURLEYVILLE RIDING
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, comprising portion of the Patea County, bounded by a line commencing in the middle of the Ingahepe Stream at its junction with the middle of the Pungao Stream, being a point on the boundary of the Patea County; then generally north-easterly along that boundary to the right bank of the Patea River, then southerly generally down the right bank of that river to the north-eastern boundary of the Patea Riding as hereinbefore described; then north-westerly generally along the boundary of that riding to and along the north-eastern boundary of the Manutahi Riding as hereinbefore described to the point of commencement.

Special Orders Made by Otamatea County Council Altering Riding Boundaries
PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special orders made by Otamatea County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER
ALTERATION OF RIDING BOUNDARIES
RESOLVED (Councillors R. E. Tantrum and A. A. Tudehope):
That pursuant to the provisions of section 35 and 36 of the Counties Act 1956, the Otamatea County Council hereby resolves by way of special order to reduce the number of ridings within the County by amalgamating the following ridings as described in the Schedules hereto:
(a) Hukatere and Matakoe Ridings (renamed Matakoe Riding);
(b) Paparoa and Mareretu Ridings (renamed Paparoa-Mareretu Riding);
(c) Maungaturoto and Whakapirau Ridings (renamed Maungaturoto-Whakapirau Riding);
(d) Tokatoka and Ruawai Ridings which are to be redivided into two separate ridings as per the Schedules hereto (to be named as before the inclusion of a portion of the Ruawai Riding (in the south) in the Tokatoka Riding (in the north)); and
further that the number of members of the Council be reduced to seven and that one councillor be elected from each of the seven ridings resulting from the alteration of riding boundaries; that the alterations of the said boundaries shall come into force at the next general election of the Council on the 9th day of October 1965, except in so far and to such extent as may be necessary for providing for that election.

PROPOSED MARERETU-PAPAROA RIDING
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Otamatea County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Manganui River in Block II, Matakoe Survey District, in line with the western boundary of Allotment 237, Mareretu Parish, and proceeding north-easterly and south-easterly generally along the Otamatea County boundary as described in Gazette, 1929, page 1684, to the westernmost corner of Section 3, Block IV, Waipu Survey District; then south-westerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Allotment 230, Mareretu Parish, and along the south-eastern boundaries of that allotment and of Lot 1, D.P. 35972, to the southernmost corner of that lot; then along a right line across Golden Stairs Road to the north-eastern corner of Allotment 152, Paparoa Parish, and southerly generally along the western side of Golden Stairs Road to and along the western and southern boundaries of Allotment 162, Wairau Parish, and the south-western side of another part of the aforesaid road to and south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Allotment 161 and the western boundary of a part Allotment 157, and along a right line across Wilson Causer Road to and along the western boundary
