PURSUANT to section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the
Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the
Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the County of Cook, that
county having been constituted by the union of the former
County of Uawa and the former County of Cook by Order
in Council made on 16 March 1964 and published in Gazette,
19 March 1964, No. 16, page 482.

Cook County

ALL that area in the Gisborne and Hawke's Bay Land
Districts bounded by a line commencing at a point on the
sea coast, being the north-eastern corner of part Takararoa
Block, D.P. 1759 (Hawke's Bay Registry), in Block XIII,
Paritu Survey District; and proceeding north-westerly
generally along the north-eastern boundary of the said part
Takararoa Block, and its production across the Wharerata-
Opoutama road, to and along the said northern boundary,
and its production to the middle of the Waiau Stream,
northerly up the middle of that stream to a point in line with
the south-western boundary of part Lot 6, D.P. 1026 (Gis-
