PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Major-General the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as road the land described in the First Schedule hereto; and also hereby proclaim as closed the portions of road described in the Second, Third, and Fourth Schedules hereto; and I also declare that the road described in the said Second Schedule hereto, when so closed, shall vest in William Anderson, the younger, of Charteris Bay, farmer, and Jean Rotha Anderson, of Christchurch, spinster; and that the road described in the said Third Schedule hereto, when so closed, shall vest in Jean Rotha Anderson, of Charteris Bay, spinster; and that the road described in the said Fourth Schedule hereto, when so closed, shall vest in Te Ra Hugo Blatchford, of Teddington, contractor, and William Lloyd Blatchford, of Teddington, farmer, subject to outstanding deed of mortgage, registered No. 130363, Canterbury Land Registry.

Allocating Railway Land to the Purposes of a Road in Block III, Paritutu Survey District

PURSUANT to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Major-General the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Borrowclough, the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto (which was acquired for railway purposes and is not now required for that purpose) shall, upon the publication hereof in the Gazette, become road, and that such road shall be maintained by the National Roads Board in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Board.
