Closely Populated Localities and Limited Speed Zones Declared
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:
- The following Warrants which relate to areas in Manukau County are hereby revoked:
(a) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 24th day of October 1951¹ which relates to Mangere;
(b) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 30th day of January 1952² which relates to Bucklands Beach;
(c) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 22nd day of November 1955³ which relates to Puhinui Road;
(d) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 19th day of February 1957⁴ which relates to Mangere Bridge County Town;
(e) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 1st day of June 1959⁵ which relates to Mangere Central;
(f) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956* dated the 14th day of August 1959⁶ which relates to Takanini;
(g) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956* dated the 8th day of March 1960⁷ which relates to Mangere East;
(h) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 10th day of March 1960⁸ which relates to an area adjacent to Papatoetoe Borough;
(i) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 18th day of December 1961⁹ which relates to the Otara and Gordon Blocks;
(j) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 12th day of March 1963¹⁰ which relates to Pakuranga;
(k) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956* dated the 4th day of November 1963¹¹ which relates to Favona;
(l) The Warrant under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956* dated the 11th day of December 1963¹² which relates to Otara;
(m) The Warrant under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 dated the 12th day of August 1964¹³ which relates to an area adjacent to Mount Wellington Borough;
(n) The Warrant under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 dated the 2nd day of February 1965¹⁴ which relates to Mangere Bridge County Town.

The areas and roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

FIRST SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Manukau County:
All that area at Bucklands Beach and Eastern Beach bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast at the southern end of The Esplanade; thence westerly generally to the intersection of the eastern side of Oliver Road with the north-eastern side of McLeans Road; thence north-westerly generally across Oliver Road at right angles to its eastern side to its western side; thence north-westerly generally along the north-eastern side of Bucklands Beach Road to a point 3 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said road from Takutai Avenue; thence westerly generally across Bucklands Beach Road at right angles to its north-eastern side to its south-western side; thence north-westerly generally along that roadside to the south-eastern side of Takutai Avenue; thence south-westerly generally along that roadside to the end of Takutai Avenue; thence westerly generally to the Tamaki River Estuary; thence northerly, easterly, and southerly along the banks of Tamaki River Estuary and the sea coast to the commencing point.
All that area at Mangere bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the south-eastern side of Memorial Drive with the south-western side of the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt road); thence north-easterly generally across the said highway at right angles to its south-western side to its north-eastern side; thence north-easterly generally to the north-western end of Thomas Road; thence south-easterly generally to the north-eastern end of View Road; thence south-easterly generally across the north-eastern ends of Cape Road and Cornwall Road to a point on the north-eastern side of the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt road) 24 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said highway from Thomas Road; thence south-westerly generally across the said highway at right angles to its north-eastern side to its south-western side; thence north-westerly generally along that roadside to the south-eastern side of Plumley Crescent; thence south-westerly, north-westerly, and southerly generally along the southern side of Plumley Crescent and the eastern side of Mankton Road to the southern end of Mankton Road; thence north-westerly generally to a point on the south-eastern side of Westney Road 20 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said road from the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt road); thence north-westerly generally by a right line across Westney Road to a point on the south-eastern side of Memorial Drive 20 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said drive from the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt road); thence north-easterly generally along the south-eastern side of Memorial Drive to the commencing point.
All that area at Mangere Bridge with the exception of Ambury Road, Ashcroft Avenue, and Muir Avenue (from Seaforth Avenue to Ashcroft Avenue), bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the south-eastern side of Pikitea Road with the north-eastern side of Wallace Road; thence south-westerly generally across Wallace Road at right angles to its north-eastern side to its south-western side; thence westerly generally to the bank of the oxidation ponds; thence north-westerly, easterly, south-easterly generally along the bank of the oxidation ponds, the shore of the Manukau Harbour, and the north-western bank of the Tararata Creek to a point on the said bank of the Tararata Creek due north of the eastern end of Kingfisher Place; thence due south by a right line across the end of Kingfisher Place and Walmsley Road to the southern side of Walmsley Road; thence south-westerly generally to a point on the eastern side of Hall Avenue 12 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said avenue from Walmsley Road; thence south-westerly generally across Hall Avenue at right angles to its eastern side to its western side; thence south-westerly generally to a point on the south-eastern side of the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt road) 18 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said highway from Tarata Crescent; thence north-westerly generally across the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt road) at right angles to its south-eastern side to its north-western side; thence north-westerly generally to the intersection of the south-eastern side of Mountain Road with the north-eastern side of Kirkbridge Road; thence north-westerly generally along the north-eastern side of Kirkbridge Road and Wallace Road crossing the intersections of Mountain Road and Miller Road to the commencing point.
All that area at Mangere East and Favona bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the northern side of Favona Road with the western bank of the Harania Creek; thence northerly and westerly generally along the western bank of the Harania Creek and the shores of the Manukau Harbour to a point on the shore line due north of a point on the south-eastern side of Favona Road 5 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said road from Forbes Road; thence southerly generally by a right line to the said point; thence south-westerly generally along the south-eastern side of Favona Road to the eastern side of Robertson Road; thence south-easterly generally along the eastern side of Robertson Road across Wakefield Road to the north-western side of the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt road); thence south-westerly generally along that roadside to a point opposite the south-western side of Tidal Road; thence south-easterly generally across the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt road) to the south-western side of Tidal Road and continuing along that roadside to the south-eastern end of Tidal Road; thence due east by a right line to the south-western side of Henwood Road and along that roadside to its intersection with the south-eastern side of Portage Road; thence north-easterly generally along that roadside to the western boundary of Papatoetoe Borough; thence north-easterly and northerly generally along the western boundaries of Papatoetoe and Otahuhu Boroughs to a point on the western boundary of Otahuhu Borough due west of the western end of Railway Lane; thence due west to the shore of the Manukau Harbour; thence south-westerly generally along the shores of the Manukau Harbour to the northern side of Favona Road; thence westerly generally along that roadside to the commencing point.
All that area at Otara, with the exception of the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (Auckland-Hamilton Motorway), bounded by a line commencing at a point where the northern boundary of Papatoetoe Borough joins the bank of the Otaki Creek; thence north-easterly and easterly generally along the banks of the Otaki Creek, the Tamaki River, and the Otara Creek and the northern boundary of part Lot 3, D.P. 13917, to the western side of Springs Road; thence south-westerly generally along that roadside and the western sides of East Tamaki Road and Prestons Road to the south-western side of Ferguson Road; thence south-easterly generally along the south-western side of Ferguson Road across Prestons Road and to a point 2 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said roadside from Murray Road; thence south-westerly generally to the junction of the eastern side of Rapson Road with the northern side of Flat Bush Road; thence south-westerly generally by a right line crossing Flat Bush Road to a point on the north-eastern side of Boundary Road 10 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said roadside from Prestons Road; thence north-westerly generally along the north-eastern side of Boundary Road to the eastern side of Prestons Road; thence south-westerly generally along the south-eastern side of Prestons Road to the eastern boundary of Papatoetoe Borough; thence north-westerly and westerly generally along the north-eastern and northern boundaries of Papatoetoe Borough to the commencing point.
