and is there open for inspection by all persons interested therein, without fee, at any time when the above places are open to the public.
Objections to the proposed changes of the district scheme or in respect of any portion of the operative district scheme may be made by way of written notice in form E, prescribed in the First Schedule of the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1960, or to the like effect, marked “Objection to District Scheme”, and lodged at the office of the Council at any time not later than 5 p.m. on Monday, the 20th day of September 1965.
At a later date every objection will be open for public inspection. Any person who wishes to support or oppose any objection will then be entitled to be heard at the hearing of objections if he notifies the County Clerk in writing within a period of which public notice will be given.

Hearing of Objection to Change No. 2 (Map Amendment No. 2) in the City of Lower Hutt District Scheme
THE Lower Hutt City Council hereby gives notice that the hearing of an objection to change No. 2 (map amendment No. 2) in the district scheme will commence at the Lower Hutt City Council Chambers, Laings Road, Lower Hutt, at 7 p.m. on Monday, the 30th day of August 1965, and will continue as there arranged from time to time and place to place.
All persons who wish to be heard in support of or in opposition to the objection shall notify the Council accordingly at least three days before that date.
The following is a summary of the subject-matters of the objection received by the Council:

LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953
Departure From Operative District Scheme
PUBLIC notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953 and of the regulations made thereunder, that the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board, by order dated the 26th day of April 1965, has consented to a specified departure from the operative district scheme for the City of Lower Hutt by permitting a subdivision by the applicant, John Strand, of part Lot 8 on Deposited Plan 8045, High Street, Lower Hutt, with a frontage below the minimum required in a subdivision of “Commercial A” land, such consent being subject to the following conditions:
(i) Payment of a contribution to Council’s Reserves Purchases and Development Account at Council’s standard rate for commercial subdivisions,
(ii) The separate installation of water, sewerage, and storm-water services for the additional lot,
(iii) The granting of an easement for rights of way,
(iv) The granting by the Council of conditions of consent for the laying out of the private way to Council’s standard requirements,
(v) The formation of the private way to Council’s requirements,
(vi) The provision of a written certificate by the surveyor that all services have been adjusted in accordance with the Council’s requirements or that no such adjustments are necessary,
(vii) Electrical and telephone reticulation being provided underground unless supplied from existing poles, and
(viii) Leave to all parties “to apply”.

LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953
Departure From Operative District Scheme
PUBLIC notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953 and of the regulations made thereunder, that the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board, by order dated the 12th day of May 1965, has consented to a specified departure from the operative district scheme for the City of Lower Hutt by permitting the applicant, Melling Properties Ltd., to use the property known as No. 16 Brunswick Street, Lower Hutt, for the erection of a building and its utilisation by Merck, Sharp, and Dohme (New Zealand) Ltd. as a laboratory and store for the formulation and testing of chemicals and medicaments, subject to the condition that all steps necessary be taken to ensure that there be no detraction from the amenities of the adjoining occupiers or of the community generally.

LAW PRACTITIONERS ACT 1955
PURSUANT to the Law Practitioners Act 1955, notice is hereby given that the Supreme Court at Auckland, on the 30th day of June 1965, ordered that Tere Mataio, of Wi Teko, barrister and solicitor, be suspended from practice as a barrister and solicitor until a decision has been made by the Court of Appeal pursuant to the provisions of section 29 of the Law Practitioners Act 1955.
