APPLICATION FOR A WATER RACE

I, Charles Desmond Bleach, of Ranfurly, farmer, hereby give notice that I have applied for a licence for a water race to divert 3 heads of water for irrigation and stock water from the Hogburn Creek at a point approximately 165ft south-west of the northern point of Section 175, Town of Komako, being Crown land held under licence by Douglas William Howell, of Waipiata, farmer, thence in a south-westerly direction under the Gimmerburn-Patearoa road into Section 11, Block XI, Maniototo District, being Crown land leased by the applicant and terminating in the said Section 11.

The application and all objections thereto will be heard on Tuesday the 10th day of August 1965 at the Warden’s Court at Cromwell, and all objections must be filed in the Registrar’s office and notified to the applicant or his solicitors at least three days before the time so appointed.

I, Graeme Leslie Duncan, of Wedderburn, farmer, hereby give notice that I have applied for a licence for a water race to divert 2 heads of water for irrigation and stock water out of a dam on an unnamed watercourse in Section 2, Block VIII, Gimmerburn District, being Crown leasehold land occupied by the applicant, running thence in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 440 yards and terminating in the said Section 2.

The application and all objections thereto will be heard on Tuesday the 10th day of August 1965 at the Warden’s Court at Cromwell, and all objections must be filed in the Registrar’s office and notified to the applicants or their solicitors at least three days before the time so appointed.

WALTER JAMES DUNCAN and JOHN DAVID STANGER DUNCAN, both of Wedderburn, farmers, hereby give notice that they have applied for a licence for a water race to divert 2 heads of water for irrigation and stock water from an unnamed watercourse in Section 1, Block VIII, Gimmerburn District, being Crown leasehold land owned by the said Walter James Duncan, and running in a south-easterly direction for 1 chain and terminating in a dam owned by the applicants.

The application and all objections thereto will be heard on Tuesday the 10th day of August 1965 at the Warden’s Court at Cromwell and all objections must be filed in the Registrar’s office and notified to the applicants or their solicitors at least three days before the time so appointed.

HAMILTON CITY COUNCIL

SECURITY RATE

Streets Loan 1965, £150,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Hamilton City Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of one hundred and fifty thousand pounds (£150,000) authorised to be raised by the Hamilton City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving streets, constructing bituminous footpaths, carriageways, kerbing and channelling within the city, purchasing land, and paying compensation, the said Hamilton City Council hereby makes a special rate of one hundred and ninety-four thousandths of a penny (0·194d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within

the City of Hamilton; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 15 years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Hamilton City Council held on the 14th day of July 1965. 5684

DEVONPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL

CONSOLIDATION OF SPECIAL RATES

"IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 as enacted by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1959 and all other power enabling it in that behalf, the Devonport Borough Council hereby resolves, by way of special order, that instead of levying the special rates specified in the Schedule hereto, a uniform consolidated special rate of 1·245d. (one decimal two four five of a penny) in the pound on the unimproved value on all rateable property within the Borough of Devonport be and the same is hereby made an annually recurring rate for the purpose of paying the annual charges plus 10 per cent thereof payable in respect of the loans secured by those special rates, and the Devonport Borough Council hereby further resolves that the consolidated special rates shall be payable in one sum on the 22nd day of July in each year at the Council Chambers, Victoria Road, Devonport, to Duncan MacLean, Borough Treasurer, or at such other place or to such other person for the time being authorised by the Council.
