PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Masterton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of £14,250 authorised to be raised by the Masterton
Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the pur-
pose of repaying on maturity that portion of the Waterworks
and Sewerage Improvement Loan 1953, £173,250, which matures
on 1 August 1965, the said Masterton Borough Council hereby
makes a special rate of 0·093d. in the pound upon the rateable
value of all rateable property in the Borough of Masterton;
and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of the loan to be payable on the 1st day
of August and the 1st day of February in each and every
year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 15
years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

WAIPAWA COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Takapau County Town Loan No. 3, 1962, of £5,000 - Second
Instalment of £2,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Waipawa County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of two thousand pounds authorised to be raised by the
Waipawa County Council under the above-mentioned Act
for the purpose of sealing roads, constructing kerb, and channel-
ling and constructing and sealing footpaths within the County
Town of Takapau, the said Waipawa County Council hereby
makes a special rate of sixty-nine ten thousands (0·0069) of a
penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable
property in the County of Waipawa; and that the special rate
shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the
loan and shall be payable yearly on the 15th day of August
in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being
a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

SOUTHLAND CATCHMENT BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Upper Waikawa River Works Loan 1965, £7,800
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the
Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Soil Conservation and
Rivers Control Act 1941, and all other powers in that behalf it
enabling, the Southland Catchment Board hereby resolves as
follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £7,800, known as the Upper Waikawa
River Works Loan 1965, authorised to be raised by the South-
land Catchment Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the
purpose of meeting the Board's share of the cost of improve-
ments to the Upper Waikawa River, the said Board hereby
makes and levies a special rate on a graduated scale according
to a classification made for the purposes of such rate of the
lands within that part of the Southland Catchment District
defined in the Schedule hereto and to be known as the Upper
Waikawa River Rating District, such special rate being as
follows, namely, one hundred and twenty-seven decimal eight
pence (127·8d.) per acre on lands classified as Class "A";
seventy-one pence (71d.) per acre on lands classified as Class
"B"; forty-nine decimal seven pence (49·7d.) per acre on lands
classified as Class "C"; forty-two decimal six pence (42·6d.)
per acre on lands classified as Class "D"; thirty-five decimal
five pence (35·5d.) per acre on lands classified as Class "E";
twenty-eight decimal four pence (28·4d.) per acre on lands
classified as Class "F"; and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and
shall be payable on the 1st day of August in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten
(10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
SCHEDULE
DEFINITION OF THE UPPER WAIKAWA RIVER RATING DISTRICT
ALL the lands within the Southland Catchment District shown
on Classification Plan No. A. 459/15, deposited for inspection
during office hours at the offices of the Board, 143 Spey Street,
Invercargill.
The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the
Southland Catchment Board held on the 23rd day of June
1965.

MANIOTOTO COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
PURSUANT to the powers conferred by the Local Authorities
Loans Act 1956, the Counties Act 1956, the Local Legislation
Act 1964, and every other power and authority it thereunto
enabling, the Maniototo County Council hereby resolves as
follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing for repayment of the
Bridges Additional Loan 1964 for £5,065 and interest and
other charges thereon, which loan was authorised to be raised
by the Maniototo County Council under the Local Authorities
Loans Act 1956 for the purpose of refunding to the County
Fund Account the sum expended from the account to
erect bridges in the county, the said Maniototo County Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·0122 of a penny
in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property
in the Maniototo County; and that such special rate shall be
an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and
be payable yearly from the 1st day of April in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 20
years, or until such loan is fully paid off, whichever is the
earlier."

OTOROHANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and in the matter
of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941 and in
the matter of the Waikato Valley Authority Act 1956, notice is
hereby given by the Otorohanga Borough Council that it is
proposed to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act
1928 and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941,
the pieces of land described in the Schedule hereto for river
control works pursuant to a resolution of the Waikato Valley
Authority passed on the 24th day of May 1961 directing the
Council to undertake the said works.
And notice is further given that a plan showing the said
pieces of land is on view and open for inspection at the
office of the Council at the address set out below during
ordinary business hours.
And notice is further given that all persons affected by the
taking of the said pieces of land who have any well grounded
objections should set forth the same in writing, within 40 days
from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk,
Otorohanga Borough Council, Council Chambers, Maniapoto
Street, Otorohanga.
