Amending Notice to the Open Season for Game in Certain Acclimatisation Districts

THE Minister of Internal Affairs hereby gives notice that the notice published in the Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, No. 16, of 25 March 1965, relating to the open season for game in the North and South Island Acclimatisation Districts is hereby amended as follows:

  1. In that portion of the Second Schedule which relates to the Hobson Acclimatisation District: by inserting the following:

(4) The property of the estate of Donald Finlayson, comprising 69 acres 3 roods 37 perches, being part Allotment 3, Oamaru Parish, part Section 1, Block XII, Toka Toka Survey District.

(5) The property of Mount Farms Ltd., comprising 728 acres and 28 perches, Section 5, Blocks III and IV, Hukatere Survey District.

  1. In that portion of the Second Schedule which relates to the North Canterbury Acclimatisation District: by deleting the following closed game areas:

(20) All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Eyre County, containing 126 acres, more or less, commencing at peg No. VI, S.O. Plan 6325, the said peg being on the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 11001, Block II, Christchurch Survey District, and proceeding south-westerly along that boundary to Storers Road; thence along a right line across that road to the northern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 10459; thence westerly generally along that boundary for a distance of 6956·2 links to the eastern side of a road passing through part Lot 1, D.P. 10459; thence north-westerly along the roadside to a line parallel to and distant 5 chains north of the right bank of the Waimakariri River; thence easterly along that line to a point due north to peg VI, S.O. Plan 6325; thence due south to the commencing point. As shown on the plan marked I.A. 52/513 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs Wellington, and thereon edged red.

and substituting the following:

(20) An area of land R. 3938 situated in the Canterbury Land District and known as the Coutts Island Reserve being an area of 23 acres.

3A. In that portion of the First Schedule which relates to the Rotorua Acclimatisation District: by deleting the following:

Paradise Duck, 1 May to 23 May inclusive (except that season will end on 27 June, only in the counties of Waiahu, Cook, Waikohu, and that portion of the Wairoa County, in the Rotorua Acclimatisation District).

and substituting the following:

Paradise Duck, 1 May to 23 May inclusive (except that season will end on 27 June, only in the counties of Waipatu, Cook, Waikohu, and that portion of the Wairoa County, in the Rotorua Acclimatisation District).

3B. In that portion of the Second Schedule which relates to the Rotorua Acclimatisation District: by inserting the following:

(29) Hauomatuku Block 4c 63 AB and Mangaone Block 113 and C1 and 1D, property of William Morris, Te Karaka.

(30) Hauomatuku No. 7 Block; Mangaone No. 2D, 3, and 2B, and 2c Blocks; Papakorokoro No. 10 and 9A Blocks, estate of J. T. A. Orr, Kanakanaia.

(31) Sections 2 and 3, Block VI, Patutahi S.D., property of Mr A. van Slyke, Waerenga-o-kuri.

(32) Section 36, Block X, Hangaroa S.D., 179 acres and 33 perches, the property of T. E. Coleman, Tiniroto.

(33) Blackburn Pond and ¼ mile surrounding same, the property of W. B. Veitch, Pehiri.

(34) Crown Lease R.L.S. 303, Lots 1 and 2, of Section 2, Block X, Waingaromia S.D., 960 acres 2 roods 18 perches, the property of N. W. Hood, Kanakania.

(35) 300 acres, more or less, as marked by notices, being part Pakepapa, part C Block, Waikohu S.D., the property of Mr J. C. Fitzgerald, Puha.

(36) 325 acres, Section 4, Block X, Waikohu S.D., the property of W. D. Cook, Eastwood Hill, Ngatapa.

(37) 300 acres more or less, as marked by notices on fence lines, part Section 1A, part Lot 3, Waingaromai Block, Waingaromai S.D., the property of J. Bloomfield, Parakania.

(38) Section 5, Block XVI, Motu S.D., 1,018 acres 2 roods 21 perches plus river reserve 4 acres, property of Miss L. McLean, Otoko.

  1. In that portion of the Second Schedule which relates to the Southern Lakes Acclimatisation District: by deleting the following:

(2) The Haast River watershed including the Landsborough and Clark Valleys.

and substituting the following:

(2) All that area in the Westland Land District, County of Westland, being portion of the watershed of the Haast River and its tributaries, bounded by a line commencing at Mount Isabel (a peak on the Main Divide of the Southern Alps), situated in Block II, Mount Napoleon Survey District, and proceeding south-westerly generally along the said Main Divide to Mount Citheron, situated in Block X, Governors Pass Survey District; thence north-westerly generally via Mueller Pass, Medeon, Mount Action, Mount Victor, the Prop, Rotten Ridge, and Zig Zag Spur, to Mount Webster (at the eastern extremity of the Mark Range), situated in Block 1, Governors Pass Survey District, again north-westerly generally along the said Mark Range via Rough Ridge (Trig. Station PR) to Mount Mark (Trig. Station PQ), situated in Block XVI, Okuru Survey District; thence northerly along the unnamed spur between Grassy Creek and the north branch of Nerger Creek and the line of the watershed between the Haast and Okuru Rivers to the eastern side of the Haast-Jacksons Bay road; thence north-easterly and south-easterly along the eastern side of the said road to its junction with No. 6 State Highway, situated in Block VII, Okuru Survey District; thence easterly generally along the southern side of the said State highway to a point due west of Trig. Station R.M., Clarke Bluff, situated in Block II, Haast Pass Survey District; thence due east to that trig. station; thence north-easterly along a right line across the Haast River to Trig, Station R.K., Woodhen Flat, situated in Block XIV, Clarke Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to Mount Macfarlane, again north-westerly along a right line to Mount Zieland, situated in Block XII, Mataketake Survey District; thence north-easterly along right lines via Law Peak and Mount Stephenson to Rainy Top; thence easterly generally via Ranginui, Plover Crag, and Monro Peak to Eureka situated on the northern boundary of the Clarke Survey District; thence north-easterly generally along the said survey district boundary and the boundaries of the Landsborough and Mount Napoleon Survey District, to the point of commencement.

  1. In that portion of the First Schedule which relates to the Stratford Acclimatisation District: by deleting the following:

Grey, shoveler (or spoonbill), mallard, paradise duck, and black swan—1 May to 30 May inclusive.

and substituting the following:

Grey, shoveler (or spoonbill), mallard, paradise duck, and black swan—1 May to 23 May inclusive.

  1. In that portion of the First Schedule which relates to the Wellington Acclimatisation District: by deleting the following:

Pukeko 1 May to 7 June inclusive.

and substituting the following:

Pukeko 1 May to 30 May inclusive.

Crown Land Set Apart for State Housing Purposes in Block VII, Cheviot Survey District

PURSUANT to section 25 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be set apart for State housing purposes from and after the 3rd day of May 1965.

SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing 1 rood situated in Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, Canterbury R.D., and being Section 3, Block XII, Town of Cheviot.

Dated at Wellington this 9th day of April 1965.

Crown Land Set Apart for a Teacher's Residence in Block IV, Wakarara Survey District

PURSUANT to section 25 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be set for a teacher's residence from and after the 3rd day of May 1965.

SCHEDULE

HAWKE'S BAY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of Crown land containing 1 rood 6·4 perches situated in Block IV, Wakarara Survey District, Hawke's Bay R.D., and being part Section 3; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 19355 (S.O. 5418) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Dated at Wellington this 15th day of April 1965.
