PURSUANT to sections 175 and 265 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advise and consent of the Executive Council, hereby validates the reclamation from the Whau River of the land containing 7 perches, more or less, adjoining Lot 14, D.P. 37411, as shown on plan marked M.D. 11990 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

Appointments and Termination of Appointment in the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to the Navy Act 1954, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments and termination of appointment in the Royal New Zealand Navy.

Lieutenant Commander A. T. G. Daymon (RN), entered on an eight year Supplementary List Commission, to date 17 March 1965 in rank of Lieutenant Commander with seniority of 16 January 1959.

Gavin Ashworth Wright, entered for a Short Service Engagement in the rank of Temporary Lieutenant, to date 31 March 1965.

David Neal Humphrey, entered for a Short Service Engagement in the rank of Temporary Lieutenant, to date 22 March 1965.

Harold Billy Louth and James Clifford Carrick Warren, entered for a Short Service Engagement in the rank of Temporary Sub-Lieutenant, to date 22 March 1965.

Acting Sub-Lieutenant O. Whimp, released (probationary appointment terminated), to date 27 March 1965.

Chairman of Land Valuation Committee Appointed

PURSUANT to section 19 of the Land Valuation Court Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Lindsay Merritt Inglis, Esquire, S.M., C.B., D.S.O., M.C., V.D., E.D.

to be a member and Chairman of the Waikato No. 1 Land Valuation Committee, for the period 8 February to 22 August 1965, during the absence of Stewart Hardy, Esquire, S.M.

Stipendiary Magistrate Appointed

PURSUANT to section 5 of the Magistrates’ Courts Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Harold James Evans, Esquire, of Gisborne

barrister and solicitor to be a Stipendiary Magistrate, to exercise criminal and civil jurisdiction within New Zealand.

Stipendiary Magistrate Appointed to Exercise Jurisdiction in the Children’s Court

PURSUANT to section 27 of the Child Welfare Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Harold James Evans, Esquire, Stipendiary Magistrate

to exercise jurisdiction in the Children’s Court established at Christchurch.

to be a member of the Arawa Maori Trust Board, to represent the Rangiteaorere-Uenukukopako subtribe, in the place of Hokopa Te Rake Te Kiri, deceased.
