Commissioner of Supreme Court Appointed
PURSUANT to section 47 of the Judicature Act 1908, the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, K.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, has this day appointed
Kenneth John Hunter Stewart, Esquire, of 22 Nerang Street, Southport, Queensland
a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, to be a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in Queensland, for the purpose of administering and taking of oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Appointment of Customs Examining Places in New Zealand
PURSUANT to section 20 of the Customs Act 1913, and to powers delegated to him by the Minister of Customs under section 11 of that Act, the Comptroller of Customs hereby appoints the premises described in the First Schedule hereto to be a place for the examination by the Customs of goods subject to the control of the Customs, and hereby revokes the appointment of the premises described in the Second Schedule.

Authorisation of the 1965 Industrial Development Exhibition
PURSUANT to the Exhibitions Act 1910, the Minister of Industries and Commerce hereby gives notice as follows:
- In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires:
“The Act” means the Exhibitions Act 1910;
“The promoter” means the Napier Development Association Incorporated;
“The exhibition” means a public exhibition of industries to be conducted by the promoter at the Wool Store of Dalgety and N.Z. Loan Ltd., at Ahuriri, Hawke’s Bay, from the 24th day of June 1965 to the 3rd day of July 1965 (both days inclusive) and to be known as the 1965 Industrial Development Exhibition.

The exhibition is hereby authorised and declared to be an exhibition within the meaning of the Act.

Subject to the conditions set out in the Schedule hereto the following provisions are hereby suspended in so far as they relate to work done or business conducted or services rendered in the said premises during the period of the exhibition, by or on behalf of the promoter, or by or on behalf of any exhibitor at the exhibition, or by any person employed in or about the exhibition, namely, such of the provisions of:
(a) The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954 and all awards and industrial agreements in force thereunder;
(b) The Shops and Offices Act 1955; and
(c) The Factories Act 1946,
as relate to the hours of commencing or ceasing work, or to the issue of permits, or to the payment for overtime, or extended hours, or to holidays and half-holidays, or to the closing of shops.
SCHEDULE
-
Forty hours shall constitute a week’s work to be worked on five days of the week and eight hours shall constitute a day’s work in or about the exhibition, and with the exception set out in clause 2 hereof, the daily hours shall be worked consecutively.

No person shall be employed in or about the exhibition for more than four hours without an interval of at least three-quarters of an hour for a meal.

(a) Any person employed during any day in or about the exhibition who is employed on that day for more than eight hours, or before the hour of 8 a.m., or after the hour of 10.30 p.m., or on any day in excess of five days per week (whether the excess employment is in or about the exhibition or otherwise) shall be paid for the excess employment at not less than half as much again as the ordinary rate for the first two hours and at not less than twice the ordinary rate thereafter.
(b) Any person employed in or about the exhibition on any day that would, but for the provisions of this order, have been a whole holiday for that person by virtue of any Act or of any award or industrial agreement shall be paid for all work done on that day at not less than twice the ordinary rate whether the work is performed wholly in or about the exhibition or otherwise: Provided that nothing in this sub-clause shall be deemed to deprive any person of any other payment for the said holiday to which he is entitled under any Act or award or industrial agreement.
- No male under 18 years of age and no female shall be employed in or about the exhibition after the hour of 10.30 p.m.
