The Standards Act 1941—Amendment of Standard Specification

PURSUANT to the Standards Act 1941 and the regulations made thereunder, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, on 26 February 1965, amended the under-mentioned standard specification by the incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder:

Number and Title of Specification: NZSS 1900 Model building bylaw—Chapter 9: Design and construction. Division 9.2: 1964 Masonry.

Amendment: No. 1.

Application for copies of the standard specification so amended should be made to the N.Z. Standards Institute, Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or Private Bag, Wellington C.1, or to the Government Bookshops at Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch, or Dunedin.

Copies of the amendment will be supplied, free of charge, upon request.

The Standards Act 1941—Draft New Zealand Standard Recommendation No. D 8139—Street and Highway Lighting. Part 2: Routes Other Than Main Routes

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Standards Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above draft Standard Recommendation is being circulated for technical comment and criticism.

All persons who may be affected by this Recommendation and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies on loan from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or Private Bag, Wellington C.1.

The latest date for comment is 21 April 1965.

National Roads Board—Notice Concerning Delegation of Board’s Powers

IT is hereby notified that pursuant to section 16 of the National Roads Act 1953, the board has, by resolution dated the 15th day of February 1965, delegated to each District Commissioner of Works the powers specified in the Schedule hereto, and conferred on the National Roads Board as controlling authority of State highways by the Transport Act 1962 and the regulations made or subsisting thereunder.


SCHEDULE

Powers under Section 76, Transport Act 1962 .... Relating to Removal of abandoned vehicles from roads.

Traffic Regulations 1956

(a) Regulation 8 .... Marking longitudinal middle lines of roadway to indicate that overtaking is prohibited.

(b) Regulation 31 .... Erection of temporary maximum speed limit signs.

(c) Regulation 112 .... Appointment of school patrols.

(d) Regulation 126 .... Erection of signs required by Traffic Regulations 1956.

Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955

(a) Regulation 4 (4) .... Issue of permits for use of heavy motor vehicles on classified roads in contravention of road classification.

(b) Regulation 8 (6) .... Prohibition in emergency of the use on any road of heavy motor vehicles for a specified period not exceeding one month.

(c) Regulation 9 .... Fixing weight limits and speed limits for heavy motor vehicles for the protection of bridges.
