Appointment of Examiner
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Shipping and Seamen Act 1952, I, William John Scott, Minister of Marine, do hereby appoint
Francis Leo Philpott
to be an Examiner of Applicants in Sight Tests, an Examiner for the purpose of granting certificates of competency as Master of Restricted Limit Launch, and an Examiner for the purpose of granting Local Launchmen’s Licences.

PURSUANT to section 47 of the Judicature Act 1908, the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, K.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, has this day appointed

a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, to be a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in Victoria, for the purpose of administering and taking of oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Appointing Returning Officer to Hold First Election of Members of the Te Awamutu Rabbit Board (Notice No. Ag. 7920)
PURSUANT to section 34 of the Rabbits Act 1955, the Director (Administration) of the Department of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said section, hereby appoints
Eric Leslie Johnston
to be the Returning Officer to hold the first election of members of the Board of the Te Awamutu Rabbit District and to prepare the first ratepayers’ list for the district.

Registration Office of the Bruce Branding Registration District Appointed (Notice No. Ag. 7924)
PURSUANT to section 4 of the Stock Amendment Act 1956 and to a delegation from the Director-General of Agriculture under section 10 of the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 for the purposes of the said section, the Director (Administration) of the Department of Agriculture hereby appoints the town of Balclutha, in lieu of the City of Dunedin, as the place at which the registration office for the Bruce Branding Registration District shall, as from the 2nd day of March 1964, be situated.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940,* the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940* to the persons described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise them to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of their employment for the employers described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise them, while they are under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Closely Populated Locality Declared
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle thereon at any time during the periods from the 20th day of December each year to the 10th day of February inclusive in the next ensuing year, and from the Thursday preceding Easter to the Tuesday following Easter, shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of 30 miles an hour fixed by the said section.

Closely Populated Locality and Limited Speed Zones Declared
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

That the Warrants under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 30th day of October 1956,* the 20th day of August 1958†, the 5th day of September 1958‡, and the Warrants under regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956 dated the 17th day of March 1958§, and the 25th day of May 1962|| which relate to Tokoroa in Matamata County are hereby revoked.

The area specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956¶.

SITUATED within Matamata County:
All that area at Tokoroa Township, excluding Maraetai Road, in Blocks VII, VIII, and XII of Patetere South Survey District commencing at a point where the Matarawa Stream intersects the northern side of Maraetai Road and then bounded as follows: to the west by the right bank of the Matarawa Stream to a point 10 chains west of Paraonui Road where the production of the boundary between part Lot 4 and part Lot 6, D.P. 23866, intersects the said right bank; to the north by the said produced line and the said boundary to and across the Putaruru-Kinleith Railway line; to the east by the eastern boundary of the said railway line to the centre line of the Whakauru Stream; to the north by the centre line of the said stream to its intersection with the western boundary of the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff); to the east by the western boundary of the said State highway; to the south by the southern boundaries of D.P. 33685 and Lot 18, D.P. 23865; to the west by the eastern boundary of Lot 17, D.P. 23865, and of Lot 5, D.P. 32554, and that boundary produced to intersect the northern side of the Maraetai Road; to the south by the northern side of the said road to the point of commencement; as the said area is more particularly shown on the plan marked TT. 2391 deposited in the Head Office of the Transport Department in Wellington.
