Boundaries of City of Hastings, Borough of Taupo, County of Taupo, County of Hawke’s Bay, Tauhara Riding of County of Taupo, and Heretaunga, Petane, and Puketapu Ridings of County of Hawke’s Bay Defined
PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the City of Hastings, Borough of Taupo, County of Taupo, County of Hawke’s Bay, the Tauhara Riding of the County of Taupo, and the Heretaunga, Petane, and Puketapu Ridings of the County of Hawke’s Bay, the previous boundaries having been altered by Orders in Council made on 31 January 1962, 26 September 1962, and 13 February 1963, and published in Gazette, 8 February 1962, No. 10, page 252; Gazette, 4 October 1962, No. 61, page 1613; and Gazette, 21 February 1963, No. 13, page 233, respectively.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF CITY OF HASTINGS
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the south-eastern side of Farndon-Pakipaki Road (Maraekakaho Road) at its intersection with the south-western side of Wall Road and proceeding north-easterly along the first-mentioned roadside to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 2. D.P. 3266; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary and the north-eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 4205, Lot 3, D.P. 3538, Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 10065, Lots 4 and 5, D.P. 3068, Lot 2, D.P. 7868, Lot 7, D.P. 3068, Lots 9 and 8, D.P. 2139, along a right line through Lot 1, D.P. 3339, and Lot 11, D.P. 2379 to and along the north-western boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 9141, Lot 136, D.P. 1222, Lot 1, D.P. 2139, and Lot 194, D.P. 1695, to and along the north-western boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 1949, to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 18, D.P. 3699, along a right line to and along that boundary to the south-eastern side of Wilson Road; thence north-easterly along that roadside and its production to and along the north-eastern side of Omahu Road to and along the south-eastern side of Ormond Road to its intersection with a right line parallel to and 250 links distant from the north-eastern side of Omahu Road; thence easterly generally along that right line to the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 8006, along that boundary and along the north-eastern boundary of that lot to and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 8006 to a point on a right line from the south-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 4228, parallel to Omahu Road, along that right line to and along the south-western boundaries of the said Lot 1, part Lot 1, D.P. 2987, and Lot 8, D.P. 2876, to the north-western side of Nottingley Road, along that roadside to and along the south-western side of Lyndhurst Road and its production to and along the south-eastern side of Farndon-Pakipaki Road (Pakowhai Road) to a point in line with the middle of Williams Street; thence south-easterly generally along the middle of that street along the middle of Tomoana Road and along the middle of Coventry Road and its production across Lot 1, D.P. 4017, and the Wellington Napier Railway to the middle of a public road adjoining the said railway, along the middle of that road, along the middle of Kenilworth Road and along the middle of No. 2 National State Highway to a point in line with the north-eastern side of Collinge Road, to and along that roadside to the north-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 2986, south-westerly along a right line at right angles to the said roadside for a distance of 50 links, and south-easterly along a right line to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 7594, to the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 1656; thence south-westerly generally along that boundary and the north-western boundary of Lot 60, D.P. 906, including the crossing of Beatty Street and Grove Road, along the south-western boundary of that Lot 60, along the north-western boundary of Lot 39, D.P. 3146, along the southern boundary of Lot 23, D.P. 9854, to the north-eastern side of Ada Street, along that roadside to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 8090, along a right line to and along that boundary and the north-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 8090, and along the north-eastern side of a Drain Reserve to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 64, D.P. 964;
thence south-westerly across that Drain Reserve to and along the said boundary and its production to the easternmost corner of a closed road shown on S.O. Plan 771 Green, being also a point on the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 1938, along that boundary and the north-western boundaries of Lots 34 and 35, D.P. 3146, including the crossing of Howard Street and Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 850, and its production to and along the south-eastern side of Norton Road to a point in line with the south-western side of Copeland Road; thence north-westerly generally along a right line to and along that roadside to and along the south-western side of Riverslea Road to a point in line with the south-western side of Murdock Road, to and along that roadside to the north-western side of Southland Road including the crossing of the Wellington-Napier Railway and No. 2 National State Highway, along that roadside to and along the south-western side of Wall Road to the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF TAUPO
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, containing 2,501 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the right bank of the Waikato River with the middle of the Otumuheke Stream, in Block II, Tauhara Survey District, and proceeding easterly up the middle of the said stream to the intersection of the north-western boundary of part Section 4, Block II, aforesaid (Public Domain, Gazette, 1888, page 1051); thence northeasterly, easterly, and southerly along the north-western, northern, and eastern boundaries of the said section, crossing an intervening public road, to the northernmost corner of Section 40, Block II, aforesaid (part Taupo Domain, Gazette, 1955, page 978); thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of the said section and Section 41, Block II, aforesaid (part Taupo Domain, Gazette, 1954, page 496), to the northern side of Rotokawa Road, and along a right line crossing the said road to the angle opposite the last-named boundary; thence westerly along the southern side of that road, to and southerly generally along a series of right lines crossing part Tauhara Middle No. 1, 244° 42' 20", 222·03 links; 143° 26′ 20″, 825·59 links; 186° 22′ 20″, 281·44 links; 161° 21′, 714·52 links; 115° 57′, 333·86 links and 193° 36' 20", 504·13 links; thence southerly along another right line to the angle on the northern side of Paetiki Road opposite the north-eastern corner of part Section 22, Block II, aforesaid, along a right line crossing the said road to the said north-eastern corner to and along the eastern boundary of the said part Section 22, and the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. S. 5096, to the northern side of National State Highway No. 5; thence westerly along the said northern side to the westernmost corner of the said Lot 1; thence south-westerly along a right line crossing the said highway to and along the south-eastern boundary of part Section 7, Block II, aforesaid to the northern side of the old Taupo-Napier Road; thence westerly along that roadside to the intersection of the western boundary of part Waipahihi 12A l with the production northerly of the western boundary of Waipahihi 4D; thence due west to the eastern shores of Lake Taupo and north-westerly generally along the lake-shore, to and northerly generally along the right bank of the Waikato River to the north-western end of River Terrace; thence north-easterly generally along the right bank of the Waikato River diversion to and along the right bank of the Waikato River to the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF TAUPO
ALL that area in the South Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, and Wellington Land Districts, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block XVI, Wharepapa Survey District, being the confluence of the Waikato River and the Waipapa Stream, and proceeding generally easterly up the middle of the said Waikato River to its confluence with the Paetataroama Stream; thence generally southerly up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of part Lot 3, D.P. S. 7273 (South Auckland Land Registry); thence south-easterly to and along that south-western boundary of part Lot 3 to the southernmost corner of part Lot 3, aforesaid; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of the said part Lot 3, Lot 2, D.P. S. 7273, Lot 2, D.P. S. 7274, Lot 2, D.P. S. 7085, Lots 5 and 4, D.P. S. 4985, Lot 5, 4, and 3, D.P. 19572, Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 30838 (all South Auckland Land Registry), Sections 6, 5, and 4, Block III, Takapau Survey District, and Lot 1, D.P. 30839 (South Auckland Land Registry), to the easternmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of part of Paeroa East No. 3A, to its southernmost corner; thence northerly along the western boundary of the land shown in D.P. 20113 (South Auckland Land Registry), to its north-western corner; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of Sections 8 and 7, Block XV, Paeroa Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of Section 29, Block XV, Paeroa Survey District; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned Section, and the south-eastern boundary of Section 20, Block XI, Paeroa Survey District, to its intersection with a right line between Trig. Station 31 Paeroa, situated in Block V, Paeroa Survey District, and Trig. Station 76A Tawhiwhau, situated in Block XIV, Galatea Survey District; thence south-easterly along that right line to its intersection with the production of a right line between Trig. Station 18, Maungawhakamana, situated in Block III, Ruawahia Survey District, and Trig. Station 38 Ahikwhakamura, situated in Block X,
