SECOND SCHEDULE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF GENERATING WORKS

1. Ruahihi:

(a) Headworks consisting of an intake on the present lake in the Mangapapa River adjacent to the existing McLaren's Falls intake.
(b) Channels and water races, approximately 9,100 ft in length, leading from the said headworks to a pipeline intake.
(c) Pipeline, 9 ft in diameter, approximately 2,050 ft. long, leading into a surge chamber of 20 ft diameter. and leading thence by penstocks to the powerhouse hereinafter mentioned, giving a static head of 286 ft.
(d) A powerhouse with a turbine and all necessary equipment for generating electricity, having a maximum capacity of 12,000 kW.
(e) A tailrace leading from the powerhouse aforesaid to the Wairoa River.

All as indicated on the said plan N.Z.E.D. 624.

2. Mangapapa:

(a) Headworks consisting of the necessary intakes on the Opuiaki, Mangapapa, and Omanawa Rivers.
(b) A tunnel 16,000 ft. in length leading from the intake on the Opuiaki River to the intake on the Mangapapa River.
(c) A tunnel and water race 12,200 ft in length leading from the intake on the Mangapapa River to a forebay above the powerhouse hereinafter mentioned.
(d) A tunnel 11,500 ft in length leading from the intake on the Omanawa River to the tunnel from the intake on the Mangapapa River and joining that tunnel at a point between the said Mangapapa intake and the said forebay.
(e) Forebay and penstocks leading to the powerhouse hereinafter mentioned giving a static head of 375 ft.
(f) A powerhouse with a turbine and all necessary equipment for generating electricity, having a maximum capacity of 12,000 kW.
(g) A tailrace leading from the powerhouse aforesaid to the Mangapapa River.

All as indicated on the said plan N.Z.E.D. 624.
