The Standards Act 1941—British Standards, Revisions,
and Amendments Available for Comment
Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941,
notice is hereby given that the British standards, revisions, and
amendments listed in the Schedule hereto are being considered for
adoption as New Zealand standard specifications. All persons
who may be affected by them and who desire to comment thereon
may, on application, obtain copies on loan from the New Zealand
Standards Institute, Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or
Private Bag, Wellington C. 1.
Requests should specify that copies are required for comment
purposes.
The closing date for the receipt of comment is 8 October 1964.

The Standards Act 1941—Draft New Zealand Standard
Specification No. D 7956—Size Designations and Body
Measurements for the Sizing of Men’s and Boys’ Shirts
Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act
1941, notice is hereby given that the above-mentioned draft
New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.
All persons who may be affected by this specification and
who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain
copies on loan from the New Zealand Standards Institute,
Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or Private Bag Wellington
C. 1.
The closing date for the receipt of comment is 20 November
1964.

Amendments to Rules of the Royal Society of New Zealand
Pursuant to the Royal Society of New Zealand Act 1933, the
Council of the Royal Society of New Zealand, at its annual
meeting held on 20 May 1964, passed resolutions amending
rules of the Society published in the Gazette on 14 November
1935, Volume III, page 3315, and to any amendments relating
thereto published subsequently.
AMENDMENT TO RULES
Section F relating to the encouragement of research:
Rules FI (15), FII (9), FIII (9), FIV (6), FVIII (5),
FIX (11), were amended so that the word “transactions”
was replaced by the word “proceedings”. These rules would
now read “there shall be published in each volume of the
proceedings of the Royal Society of New Zealand a complete
list of awards. . .”
NEW RULES
FX Benson Fund:
- Under the terms of his will the late Emeritus Professor
William Noel Benson, B.A., D.SC., F.R.S., F.R.S.N.Z., F.G.S.,
a former President of the Society, who died on 20
August 1957, left one tenth of the residue of his estate to the
Society “to supplement funds available for the publication of
scientific papers”. - The Benson Fund shall consist of moneys received under
the will of the late Professor W. N. Benson and other funds
which may be given or granted for the same purpose.
