SCHEOULE

CONDITIONS

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1960, and the provisions of those regulations shall, as far as applicable, apply hereto.
  2. The premium payable by the licensee shall be one pound (£1) and the annual sum so payable one pound (£1).
  3. The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st day of July 1964.

Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954—Proposed Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union
Pursuant to section 85 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954, it is hereby notified that the registration of the New Zealand Carpenters and Joiners and Joiners Machinists Industrial Association of Workers Registered No. 2138, situated at Room 13, Trades Hall, Wellington, will, unless cause to the contrary is shown, be cancelled on the expiration of six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.

Releasing Land From the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Pirongia Development Scheme)
Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 5 November 1936, and published in the Gazette, 12 November 1936, Volume III, page 2198.

Describing the Boundaries of the Christchurch Abattoir District and Specifying the Canterbury Bye-Products Co. Ltd. as the Controlling Authority of the Christchurch Abattoir. (Notice No. Ag. 8023)
Pursuant to section 15 (7) of the Meat Act 1939, and to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said section, notice is hereby given as follows:

  1. The Christchurch Abattoir District shall henceforth comprise:
    (i) The City of Christchurch;
    (ii) The Borough of New Brighton;
    (iii) The Borough of Sumner;
    (iv) The Borough of Woolston;
    (v) The Borough of Kaiapoi;
    (vi) The Borough of Rangiora;
    (vii) All that part of Selwyn County described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

ALL that parcel of land within the Christchurch and Halswell Survey District bounded by the estuary of the Avon and Heathcote as the north-west boundary of the Borough of Sumner, along the western boundary of that borough to its junction with the northern boundary of the Borough of Lyttelton, along the northern boundary of that borough, and following from thence the summit of the hills to Cass Peak; thence in a direct line to Burke's Bush Road, following Burke's Bush Road to its junction with the Lincoln Road and the Halswell River, following the Halswell River, touching the Lincoln Road at Sections 116 and 1593; thence following Lincoln Road to the road dividing Section 407; thence to Saby's Road and Marshes Road, and along Marshes Road to its junction with Springs Road; thence to the Main South Road at the southernmost corner of Section 885; thence along the western boundary of that section to Factory Road; thence following that road to the road forming the western boundary of Section 2113; thence to Buchanan's Road, to Junction Road, to Yaldhurst Road; thence to Kaiapoi Junction Road, along that road to the Harewood Road, along Harewood Road to the River Styx, following the River Styx to the road dividing Sections 21011 and 16753; thence by that road to the ocean beach, along the ocean beach to the northern boundary of the Borough of Sumner, along the northern and western boundaries of that borough to the River Avon, and following that river to the estuary; thence along the estuary of the Avon and Heathcote to the western boundary of the Borough of Sumner; save and excepting the Boroughs of Woolston and Greater Christchurch.

  1. The Canterbury Bye-Products Co. Ltd. shall continue to be the Controlling Authority of the Christchurch Abattoir.

National Roads Board—Notice Concerning the Stopping of Vehicles on Roads
It is hereby notified that, pursuant to National Roads Bylaw 1958 No. 1,* the Board has by a resolution carried at its meeting, on 20 May 1964, prohibited the stopping of vehicles at all times on the northern side of State Highway No. 1 within Ngaruawahia Borough commencing at a point 2½ chains south of the intersection with Jordan Street and extending southwards to the northern side of the new intersection with Ellery Street.

Indecent Publications Act 1963
THE Indecent Publications Tribunal, having considered the application by the Comptroller of Customs in respect of the book No Adam in Eden by Grace Metalious, has decided that the said book is not indecent under either subsection (a) or subsection (b) of section 10 of the Indecent Publications Act 1963.

Pursuant to the Standards Act 1941, and the regulations made thereunder, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, on 7 May 1964, amended the under-mentioned standard specification by the incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder:

Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 169:1962 Classification and grading of New Zealand building timber (national grading rules).

Amendment: No. 1.
Application for copies of the standard specification so amended should be made to the N.Z. Standards Institute, Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or Private Bag, Wellington C. 1, or to the Government Bookshops at Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch, or Dunedin.
Copies of the amendment will be supplied, free of charge, upon request.
