APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE FOR ALTERATION TO A WATER RACE
PURSUANT to the Mining Act 1926, the undersigned, James Patrick Verdun Herlihy, of Patearoa, farmer, hereby applies for a licence for a water race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking-out privilege applied for: 3 p.m., 3 June 1964.
Date and number of miner's right: 13 March 1964, No. 894.

SCHEDULE
LOCALITY of the race and of its starting and terminal points; also description of land traversed:
Alteration of point of intake, in respect of water-race licence 2554, to a point on the Sowburn Creek approximately 800 yards further up stream from the old point of intake, such point being sited in Crown lands, Section 77, Block I, Upper Taieri District, occupied by Simon George Turner as lessee, being also an approximate distance of 45 yards from the south-eastern corner of Section 51, Block I, Upper Taieri District, and the water race thence running in a north-westerly direction through the lands occupied by the said Simon George Turner and thence through Crown lands occupied by Ronald McSkimming to join up with the old water-race course, a distance of approximately 520 yards from amended point of intake.
Length and intended course of race: 40 yards approximately to link up with existing water race.
Points of intake: From a point in Section 77, Block I, Upper Taieri District, 60 yards from the south-eastern boundary of Section 51, Block I.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Race constructed some years ago.
Mean depth and breadth: 6 in. by 2½ ft.
Number of heads to be diverted: 2 heads.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation.
Proposed term of licence: Concurrent with existing licence.

LOCALITY of the race and of its starting and terminal points; also description of land traversed:
Alteration of point of intake, in respect of water-race licence 976, to a point on the opposite side of the Pigburn Creek up stream for a distance of 240 yards in Run 204B occupied by Beeches Pastoral Co. Ltd. The water race from such point of intake then running in a north-westerly direction through part of the said Run 204B, a distance of 700 yards, to a point adjacent to the creek where it is siphoned by pipes across the said creek, a distance of 700 ft, to its junction with the original water course of the licence, such junction point being situated in Run 204B.

Length and intended course of race: 700 yards - race 700 ft siphoned.
Points of intake: Run 204B - 240 yards length of diversion.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Already constructed.
Mean depth and breadth: 1 ft by 3 ft.
Number of heads to be diverted: 6 heads.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation and domestic.
Proposed term of licence: Existing term.
Signature of applicant: J. P. V. Herlihy.
Precise time of filing of the foregoing application: 10 a.m. on 8 July 1964.
Time and place appointed for the hearing of the application and all objections thereto: Wednesday, 26 August 1964, at the Warden's Court, Cromwell, at 10 a.m.
Objections must be filed in the registrar's office and notified to applicant at least three days before the time so appointed.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL
ST. JOHN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH (PAROCHIAL DISTRICT OF JOHNSONVILLE) BURIAL GROUND ACT 1964
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington Diocesan Board of Trustees proposes to apply for leave to bring into the General Assembly of New Zealand, in Parliament assembled, during its present session, a Private Bill the objects of which are to close the burial ground on the grounds of St. John's Anglican Church, Johnsonville, in the City of Wellington, to empower the Board to remove all headstones, monuments, and grave surrounds, to level and plant the ground in grass, trees, and shrubs, and to erect a monument common to all persons interred in the burial ground.
The promoter of this Private Bill is the Wellington Diocesan Board of Trustees.
Communications or notices to the promoter may be sent to, and a copy of the Bill may be inspected, at the offices of the Board's solicitors, Messrs Olphert and Bornholdt, 142 Featherston Street, Wellington, C. I.

STATUTORY REGULATIONS
Under the Regulations Act 1936, statutory regulations of general legislative force are no longer published in the New Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one or more of the following arrangements:
(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing) subscription £3 per calendar year in advance.
(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram, 50s. per volume. (Volumes for years 1936–37 and 1939–42 are out of print.)
(3) Separate regulations as issued.
