Notice of Intention to Take Land for Road in Block V, Waiaua Survey District, being Land Required for the Approaches to the Waiaua Bridge on the Opotiki-Gisborne via Te Araroa State Highway No. 35

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for road, and notice is hereby further given that the plan of land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Opotiki and is there open for inspection; and that every person affected by the execution of the said work or by the taking of the said land should set forth in writing any objection he may wish to make to the execution of the work or to the taking of the land, not being an objection to the amount of compensation, and send the written objection, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Foreshore Licence at Buckland's Beach Amended

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby amends the licence of 28 May 1964, published in the Gazette, of 28 May 1964, page 887, licensing the Buckland's Beach Yacht Club (Inc.) to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and bed of the sea at Buckland's Beach, Auckland, as shown on plan marked M.D. 11789, the figures "11789" should be deleted and the figures "11798" inserted.

Plant Declared a Noxious Weed in the County of Hutt (Ag. No. 7994)

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, and to a delegation from the Minister under section 9 of the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 for the purpose of the said section, the following special order made by the Hutt County Council on the 30th day of January 1964 is hereby published.

SPECIAL ORDER

RESOLVED that Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans) be a noxious weed within the County of Hutt.

Cancellation of Teacher's Certificate and Registration as a Teacher

PURSUANT to section 17 of the Education Amendment Act 1924, the teacher's certificate and registration as a teacher of Lloyd Verdun Baré are cancelled.

Classification of Road in Otamatea County

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby revokes so much of the Warrant dated the 12th day of July 1950† as relates to the road described in the Schedule hereto and hereby approves the Otamatea County Council's proposed classification of the said road as set out in the said Schedule.

New Zealand Dairy Production and Marketing Board, Declaration of Result of Election in the Northern Ward

I hereby declare the result of the election in the Northern Ward for a member of the New Zealand Dairy Production and Marketing Board, which closed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, 24 June 1964, to be as follows:

I therefore declare the said Thomas Anthony Carroll to be duly elected.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 45 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933 (as amended by section 23 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Amendment Act 1936), the Governor of the Reserve Bank acting with the authority of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that, as from 3 July 1964, the balance to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each other bank for the time being carrying on business in New Zealand in accordance with the said section 45 shall be such that, when added to that bank's holding of Reserve Bank notes, it shall be equal to not less than 28 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand, as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 46 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933.

Provided that the minimum balance to be maintained at the Reserve Bank shall not be less than 7 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand.

For the purpose of this calculation a bank's holding of Reserve Bank notes shall be as shown in the latest available weekly return provided under the Statistics Act 1955.
