and New Brighton Sewerage Loan 1954, of £300,000, which
matured on 1 December 1961 and 1 April 1964 respectively,
the said Christchurch Drainage Board hereby makes special
rates of £·00004375 and £·000025885 in the pound respectively
upon the capital rateable value of all rateable property within
that part of the Christchurch drainage district described
in Schedule B (as altered from time to time in terms of
section 5 (f) of the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment
Act 1922 and section 60 (6) of the Christchurch District
Drainage Act 1951) to a resolution of the Board dated the
17th day of April 1923; and that the special rates shall be
annual-recurring rates during the currency of the loans and
be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every
year during the currency of the loans, being periods of 30
and 29 years respectively, or until the loans are fully paid
off.”
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the
Christchurch Drainage Board held on 26 May 1964.

BOROUGH OF BALCLUTHA
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Waterworks Extension Renewal Loan 1964, £5,500; Milk
Treatment Station Renewal Loan 1964, £4,700; Sewerage
Renewal Loan 1964, £8,500
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Balclutha Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
the above-mentioned renewal loans authorised to be raised by
the Balclutha Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act
for the purpose of meeting the difference between the amounts
set aside on annual redemption and the original amounts of
a series of 4 per cent loans due for repayment in the current
financial year, the said Balclutha Borough Council hereby
makes a special rate of 0·4222d. in the pound on the unimproved
value of all the rateable property in the Borough of
Balclutha; and that the special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of the renewal loans and
be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every
year during the currency of the renewal loans or until the
loan is fully paid off.”
It is not proposed to collect this special rate as the annual
charges on the loans will be met from the revenues of the
general account and accounts of the trading departments
concerned.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL
PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act
1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of ratepayers of the
Bulls County Town, taken on 3 June 1964, on the proposal of
the above named local authority to raise a loan of £40,000,
to be known as the Bulls Water Supply Loan 1964, for the
purpose of providing a water supply for Bulls County Town,
resulted as follows:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was ... 134
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 35
The number of informal votes was ......... Nil
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
NOTICE is hereby given that the Matamata County Council
proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928,
to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the
land proposed to be taken is deposited in the public office
of the Clerk of the above Council situated at Tirau and is
there open for inspection. Every person affected who wishes
to make any objection to the taking of the said land (not
being an objection to the amount or payment of compensation)
must state his objection in writing and send the same, within
40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the
County Clerk, Tirau.

TAUPIRI DRAINAGE AND RIVER BOARD
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
IN the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments
and in the matter of the Soil Conservation and Rivers
Control Act 1941, the Waikato Valley Authority Act 1956,
the Taupiri Drainage and River District Act 1929, and the
River Boards Act 1908, and their amendments, public notice
is hereby given that the Taupiri Drainage and River Board
proposes to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction
of a stop bank and associated flood protection works,
for which purpose the land described in the Schedule hereunto
is required to be taken by the Taupiri Drainage and River
Board, under the provisions of sections 22 and 23 of the
Public Works Act 1928.
A plan of the land required to be taken as aforesaid is open
for inspection at the office of the Taupiri Drainage and River
Board, Victoria Street, Hamilton.
Every person affected shall set forth in writing any objection
he may wish to make to the taking of such land, not being
an objection to the amount or payment of compensation,
and shall send such written objection, within 40 days from the
date of the first publication of this notice, to the Taupiri
Drainage and River Board at Hamilton.

Corporations Act 1954 and their respective amendments, notice
is hereby given that the Winton Borough Council proposes,
under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute
a certain public work, namely, the creation of a service lane
and for the purpose of such public work the lands described
in the Schedule hereunto are required to be taken.
And notice is further given that a plan of the land so
required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the
Council situate at Meldrum Street, Winton, and is open for
inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office
hours.
All persons affected by the taking of the said land who have
any objection thereto must state their objections in writing
and send the same, within 40 days from the first publication
of this notice, to the Town Clerk of the Borough of Winton
at the Council's office, Winton.
