THE CHARITABLE TRUSTS ACT 1957
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL OF SCHEME
NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Trustee as trustee of the will of Norman James Cox, deceased, has filed in the office of the Supreme Court at Wellington an application for approval of a scheme for disposition of the assets of his estate to provide scholarships, and for extending or varying the powers of the scholarship committee constituted under the will, and prescribing or varying the mode of administering the trusts. Under the will those eligible must (inter alia) have spent at least one year in the secondary department of the Whakatane High School (or any secondary school supplanting it) and the scholarships are to be “for advanced training in social science”. The scheme would modify this by defining what are social science subjects and showing that at least one such subject should be taken in each year for which a scholarship is held. The provisions in the will regarding eligibility for a scholarship would be varied and other minor changes would result from approval of the scheme.
Copies of the scheme and the report of the Attorney-General thereon may be inspected, free of charge, at the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, Wellington, and at the Public Trust Offices, at Tauranga, Whakatane, and Wellington. The date proposed for the hearing of the application is the 15th day of July 1964. Any person desiring to oppose the scheme is hereby required to give written notice of his intention to do so to the Registrar of the Supreme Court, at Wellington, and to the Public Trustee Wellington, and to the Attorney-General not less than seven clear days before that date.
R. E. C. BEATSON,
2489 Solicitor to the Public Trust Office, Wellington.
