WAIAUPU COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
NOTICE is hereby given that the Waiaupu County Council acting under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, and the Counties Act 1956, proposes to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto for a public work, namely for a public road.
Notice is further given that plans of the lands required to be taken are deposited in the offices of the council at Te Puia Springs, and of the Council’s solicitors, Messrs Nolan and Skeet, Childers Road, Gisborne, and are open for inspection by all persons during office hours.
All persons affected by the taking of such lands or by the execution of such public works must set forth in writing any objection they may wish to make to the execution of the said works or to the taking of the said lands, not being an objection to the amount or payment of compensation, and deliver the same to the offices of the council within 40 days from the first publication of this notice.
The proposed road is a deviation of the Tapuaeroa Road in the Waiaupu County to provide access to and from the new Mangawhariki Bridge.

OTAGO CATCHMENT BOARD
CONFIRMATION OF SPECIAL ORDER ADOPTING THE ACREAGE SYSTEM OF RATING FOR THE WAIKOIKOI SPECIAL RATING AREA
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Otago Catchment Board held on Monday, 18 May 1964, the following resolution was passed viz:
Pursuant to and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 106B of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, the Otago Catchment Board hereby resolves, so that this resolution may be confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Board and operate as a special order, that:

The acreage system of rating be adopted for the purpose of levying rates to meet the local share of the cost of soil conservation and river control works in the catchment of the Waikoikoi Stream, and
-
Such rates shall be levied on all rateable property liable to be rated for such rates in that part of the Otago Catchment District defined in the Schedule hereto and shown on Plan B3367 deposited for inspection at the offices of the Board and intended to be known as the Waikoikoi Special Rating Area, the said rates to be levied on a graduated scale according to a classification to be made by the Board of lands within the said part of the catchment district, and

Any person who considers the acreage system of rating will operate unfairly in the Waikoikoi Special Rating District may within 14 days after the date on which this resolution is confirmed by the Board as a special order, appeal on that ground to the Land Valuation Court against the special order.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Otago Catchment District and bounded as follows:
Commencing at a point on Middle Road at the north-western corner of Part Lot 4, Deposited Plan No. 1135, Otago Land Registry, in Block VII, Greenvale Survey District, and proceeding thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of Lot 4 aforesaid to the north-eastern corner thereof; thence in a south-easterly direction along the eastern boundary of Lot 4 aforesaid to and across a road and again along the south-western side of a road intersecting Lot 5 of the aforesaid plan to the eastern boundary of Lot 5 aforesaid; thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block VIII, Greenvale Survey District; thence in a south-easterly and north-easterly direction along the north-eastern and northern boundaries of Section 24, Block II, Glenkenich Survey District to the north-eastern corner thereof; thence in a south-easterly direction along the eastern boundary of Section 24, across a road again along the eastern boundaries of Sections 21, 20, 7, across a road, Sections 18, 8, 9, and 13, Block II, in the said District to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence in a southerly direction across a road and along the eastern boundaries of Sections 16 and 17, Block VI, in the aforesaid District to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence in a south-easterly direction across a road and then, in a north-easterly direction, along the northern boundaries of Sections 26, 27, 33, 37, and 39, to the north-eastern corner thereof in Block VI, Glenkenich Survey District; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of Section 39 aforesaid and Sections 38, 36, 35, 34, 53, 52, and in part Section 51, in the aforesaid Block and District to the south-eastern corner thereof; thence in a south-easterly direction across a road and along the eastern boundaries of Section 55, Block VI, and Sections 13 and 12, and intersecting Section 7, Block X, in the aforesaid District to the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern boundary of the severed portion of Section 3, Block XVI in the said District, to and across a road, thence in a north-easterly direction along the south-eastern side of a road intersecting Sections 4 and 3 aforesaid to a riverbank reserve on the right bank of the Pomahaka River; thence generally in a southerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections 3 and 4, and again Section 3 aforesaid to the south-eastern corner thereof; thence generally in a southerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections 6A, 13A, and 17A, Conical Hills Settlement to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence in a south-westerly direction along the south-eastern boundary of Section 17A aforesaid to the south-western corner thereof; thence in a northerly direction along the south-western boundary of Section 17A and the north-western boundary of Section 12A in the aforesaid Settlement to the north-western corner thereof; thence in a south-westerly direction across a road and along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 11A, 10A, 9A, and 8A, Conical Hills Settlement to the south-western corner thereof; thence in a westerly direction across a road to the north-eastern boundary of Section 38, Block X, Glenkenich Survey District; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of Section 38 aforesaid to and across a road and again along the eastern boundary of Section 20A, Conical Hill Settlement; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundaries of Sections 20A and 19A in the aforesaid settlement to the south-western corner thereof; thence in a north-westerly direction along the western boundary of Section 19A aforesaid, to and across a road to the southern boundary of Section 35, Block X, in the last-mentioned District; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundaries of Section 35 in part, and Section 34 in the said Block and District; thence generally in a north-westerly direction along the south-western boundaries of Section 41, across a road, along the south-western boundary of Section 37, across a road and along the southern boundaries of Sections 32 and 31, and again along the south-western boundaries of Sections 30, 29, 28, 27 across a road and along the western boundaries of Sections 18 and 17, Block IX, in the said District; thence in a northerly direction along a road intersecting Section 9, Block V, in the said District to a road junction therein; thence in a northerly direction across a road to the northern side thereof; thence generally in a westerly direction along the northside of a road intersecting Sections 9 and 10 in the said Block and District to the western boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence generally in a northerly direction along the western boundaries of Sections 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, across a road, and again along the north-western boundaries of Sections 22 and 23, Block V, Sections 12, 11, and 10 across a road and along the south-western boundaries of Sections 17, 18, and 19, Block I, in the said District, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence in a north-easterly direction along the north-western boundaries of Sections 25, 24, and in part Section 23, Block I, Glenkenich Survey District to a road junction on the northern boundary of the last-mentioned section, thence generally in a north-easterly direction across a road and along the north-western boundary of Section 29 in the said Block and District to the north-western corner thereof, thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of Lot 5, Deposited Plan No. 1135 aforesaid, to and across a road, thence in a south-westerly direction along the southern boundary, in part, of Part Lot 4, Deposited Plan No. 1135 aforesaid to the south-western corner thereof, thence generally in a north-westerly and north-easterly direction along the south-western and north-western boundaries of Part Lot 4 aforesaid to the north-western corner thereof at the point of commencement.
And notice is hereby further given that that above resolution will be submitted to the ordinary meeting of the Board to be held on Monday 15 June 1964, for confirmation as a special order.
