Subsoil of Street Closed in the Borough of Lyttelton

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as closed so much of the subsoil of the portions of street described in the First Schedule hereto as is described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL those pieces of street in the Borough of Lyttelton, Canterbury R.D., described as follows:

0 0 1·1 Part Rural Section 40 and Lot 1, D.P. 294 (being part Rural Section 40); coloured burnt sienna, edged green, on plan M.O.W. 18391 (S.O. 10217).

0 0 5·9 Part Rural Section 266 and Lot 7, D.P. 294 (being part Rural Section 266); coloured burnt sienna, edged green, on plan M.O.W. 18390 (S.O. 10216).
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plans marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SECOND SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL those portions of the subsoil of the pieces of street described in the First Schedule hereto as are situated beneath a plane 10 ft in vertical height above the centre line of the roof of portions of the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel. As the said portions of subsoil are more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 18392 (S.O. 10218) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 27th day of April 1964.

Amending the Constitution of the Whakarewarewa Rural Fire District

PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:
The Order in Council dated the 30th day of June 1948 and published in the Gazette, 1 July 1948, Vol. II, page 815, amended by an Order in Council dated 7 July 1954 and published in the Gazette, 15 July 1954, Vol. II, page 1137, and by an Order in Council dated the 21st day of February 1956 and published in the Gazette, 1 March 1956, Vol. I, page 267, is hereby amended by omitting the Schedule to that Order in Council and substituting the Schedule set out in the Schedule to this Order in Council.
SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT, ROTORUA CONSERVANCY—WHAKAREWAREWA RURAL FIRE DISTRICT
ALL those areas in the South Auckland Land District, Rotorua County, containing approximately 33,900 acres and described generally as follows:
All that area containing approximately 29,000 acres, situated in Blocks I, II, V, VI, VIII, IX, X, XI, XIII, XIV, XV, and XVI, Tarawera Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north generally by the northern side of the Rotorua-Whakatane State Highway to its junction with the Rotorua-Lake Tarawera Main Highway; towards the north-east by the north-eastern side of the Rotorua-Lake Tarawera Main Highway; towards the east by Lake Tarawera, the south-western boundaries of the Ruawahia Block and Rotomahana Parekarangi part 5B 6 Block, Block XII, Tarawera Survey District, and the western shore of Lake Rotomahana; towards the south generally by the northern boundary of part Run 79, Block XVI, Tarawera Survey District, and the north-eastern boundary of part Section 8, Block XV, Tarawera Survey District, to the Waimangu Loop Road; towards the south-west generally by the southern side of the said Waimangu Loop Road to its junction with the Rotorua-Taupo State Highway; towards the west generally by the western side of the said Rotorua-Taupo State Highway to and across the Rotorua-Atiamuri Main Highway to the north-eastern corner of Rotomahana Parekarangi part 6A 2 No. 5B Block, Block I, Tarawera Survey District; thence by a right line across the said Rotorua-Taupo State Highway and the southern boundary of part Section 3, Block I, Tarawera Survey District, to the Puarenga Stream; towards the north-west generally by the western side of the Puarenga Stream to the Rotorua-Whakatane State Highway.
Also, all that area containing approximately 4,900 acres, situated in Blocks VIII, XI, XII, XIV, and XV, Horohoro Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north-west generally by the western side of the Rotorua-Atiamuri Main Highway; towards the south generally by the southern side of the Waikaukau Road; towards the east generally by the eastern side of Brice Road to its junction with the Rotorua-Atiamuri Main Highway.
As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 38/79 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 25th day of May 1964

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 5 of the Historic Places Act 1954, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and on the recommendation of the Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby appoints the under-mentioned persons to be members of the National Historic Places Trust for a term of three years on and from the 1st day of April 1964, these persons having retired from office in accordance with section 6 of that Act:
To be Chairman of the Trust:
George Hamish Ormond Wilson, M.A., of Bulls.
To represent the Maori Race:
John te Herekiekie Grace, M.V.O., J.P. of Wellington.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a marae site, meeting place, and burial ground for the common use and benefit of the owners and the members of the Ngati te Ahunga tribe.
