Declaring Land Taken in Connection With Street Widening
in the City of Wellington
PURSUANT to section 32 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Works hereby declares that, sufficient agreements
to that effect having been entered into, the land described in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken in connection with street
widening and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens
of the City of Wellington from and after the 25th day of
May 1964.

Declaring Application of Engineering Associates Act 1961
to an Association and Revoking Previous Declaration
PURSUANT to the Engineering Associates Act 1961, the Minister
of Works hereby declares, that the said Act shall apply to
the Institute of the New Zealand Motor Industry (Incorpor-
ated) and hereby revokes the declaration dated 21 Feb-
ruary 1964 and published in Gazette, No. 10, of 27 February
1964, page 287.

Declaring Area Exempted From Portions of the Motor Launch
Regulations 1962
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, the Minister
of Marine hereby declares that, for five years from the date
hereof, on any day between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.,
subject to compliance with the conditions set out in the
Second Schedule hereto, regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor
Launch Regulations 1962 shall not apply to the area described
in the First Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL the waters of Lake Karapiro within the following
boundaries:
(a) A line drawn in a north-easterly direction commenc-
ing at the point where the northern boundary fence of the
Brooklyn Water Ski Club's grounds meets the lake and
extending 200 yd into the lake.
(b) A line drawn from the lake shore parallel to the line
described in (a) at a distance of 60 chains up stream of it
and extending into the lake a distance of 200 yd.
(c) A line joining the eastern extremities of the lines
described in (a) and (b).
SECOND SCHEDULE
EACH of the boundaries outlined in paragraphs (a) and (b)
in the First Schedule shall be marked as follows:
(a) Brightly painted marker buoys shall be moored at
distances of 100 yd and 200 yd from the edge of the water.
(b) At the edge of the lake at normal lake level on the
western end of boundary line (a) there shall be placed a
notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft, painted
white with black letters, and containing the following notice:
"NOTICE
Motor Launch Regulations 1962
No speed restriction for motor launches and
water skiers between the hours of 9 a.m. and
6 p.m. for 60 chains south of this notice."
(c) At the edge of the lake at normal lake level on the
western end of boundary line (b) there shall be placed a
notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft, painted
white with black letters, and containing the following notice:
"NOTICE
Motor Launch Regulations 1962
No speed restriction for motor launches and
water skiers between the hours of 9 a.m. and
6 p.m. for 60 chains north of this notice."
(d) On special rowing regatta days any of the aforesaid
marker buoys within the surveyed rowing course must be
removed.

Classification of Roads in Taieri County
PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regula-
tions 1955, the Commissioner of Transport hereby revokes
the Warrant dated the 13th day of February 1951† which
relates to the roads described in the Schedule hereto and hereby
approves the Taieri County Council's proposed classification
of the said roads as set out in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE
TAIERI COUNTY
Roads Classified in Class One
Centre Road (from the Henley-Berwick road to Poplar
Road).
Henley-Berwick road (from the No. 1 State Highway
(Awanui-Bluff) to Centre Road).
Marshall's Road (from Centre Road to the South Island
Main Trunk Railway).
Roads Classified in Class Two
All other roads under the control of the Taieri County
Council.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand
PURSUANT to section 45 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand
Act 1933 (as amended by section 23 of the Reserve Bank
of New Zealand Amendment Act 1936), the Deputy Governor
of the Reserve Bank acting with the authority of the Minister
of Finance, hereby gives notice that, as from 22 May 1964 the
balance to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each other
bank for the time being carrying on business in New Zea-
land in accordance with the said section 45 shall be such that
when added to that bank's holding of Reserve Bank notes,
it shall be equal to not less than 22 per cent of its demand
liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its time
liabilities in New Zealand, as shown in the last preceding
monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with
section 46 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933.
Provided that the minimum balance to be maintained at
the Reserve Bank shall not be less than 7 per cent of its
demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its time
liabilities in New Zealand.
For the purpose of this calculation a bank's holding of
Reserve Bank notes shall be as shown in the latest available
weekly return provided under the Statistics Act 1955.
